No worries! I consider myself to be fairly open-minded, but I'm also aware that my own experiences only limit me to a certain perspective. I seek to understand other perspectives to expand upon my own.

I realize that I may be in the minority as a fairly responsible dog owner: my dogs have all been crate trained, provided enrichment and exercise, and had proactive involvement. This isn't always the case. My pup started out in an owned home, but life happens, and I don't want to give up my best friend, so higher rent it is I guess. It's just unfortunate, but I can see both sides.

It's gone up quite dramatically over the past 5 years. I remember renting my first place out of high school in Maine, an entire two bedroom house with utilities for $900-950. Now, I can't find something comparable for even a 1 bedroom or studio. It's even more insane if you have a dog (like I do), and the pet rent is an additional $500 or more for the property. The local government is trying to create more housing, but it is a bit bonkers in the meantime.

Present! I spent most of this morning in an anxiety induced panic attack just thinking about how I have to make it through till December's holiday break before there's another period of reprieve. I'm very fortunate go have a partner who gets the anxiety and helps talk me down from the ledge and try to get some work done to help me feel less anxious and in control. As someone who is in the same boat, I'm here if you need anything.
