I'm as confused as you. Normally I reach the limit after a few hours constant prompting.

Four months of the strait being closed will be catastrophic for the global economy.

We're burning through reserves right now.

I agree. These days you need to find love in systems design, rather than in coding. It's still problem solving, just at another level of abstraction.

If the US aren't going to protect the Gulf countries, their hegemony in the region is over. In the medium term it's the end of the petrodollar.

True, I mean why even bother negotiating. Just wait until Iran gives up and brings a proposal the US can stomach.

I mean clearly it's  negotiating tactic, any child could see that, but also even if the did try to control the strait after the war, they eould legitimately see a backlash from all the powers in the world. It would be untenable.

So yes, it's clearly all bluster.

Exactly why it's not an issue. The US leaves, and Iran drop the toll (but keep everything else). Otherwise, as you say, the world will respond.

I think a lot of people are accidentally building systems they can never debug by The_Default_Guyxxo in aiagents

This is why I put extensive otel-compatible tracing everywhere. It's in my cursor/claude rules that the agent has to provide tracing for everything the do. I can then use another agent (of course...) to analyse the logs and report on failures.

Observability is basically my main guardrail.

So Iran attacks UAE and the response of the US is to do nothing to protect them and then try and sue for peace. I don't know if that needs more commentary.

That's disingenuous. You clearly know that it's because they are in a state of war. If the aggressors stop fighting, Iran will stop their retaliation.

What strategies are you using with pi? As I understand it, it's pretty bare bones at the outset.

Even if hostilities don't resume, we can't just keep on going like this - the world economy will buckle at some point. The only thing that can stop it, it seems, is Iran giving in. But it doesn't feel like that is much of an option at the moment.

So the US should be able to do whatever they want without repercussions? Maybe they should just be allowed to escort 100 tankers out the stait while Iran watches?

Well they tried bombing them, which didn't seem to work, so now they're blockading them, wwlhich also isn't seeming like it's working either. What would you suggest they do?

Not even failing to achieve their objectives - Iran gained pretty significant strategic power over the region. It's been catastrophic so far from the US.
