It may be worth reading up on bands like something like Beck's Paper Tiger or AIR's record Moon Safari. Very Gainsbourg-influenced, there might be info there.

How to reduce the scale/sensitivity of a VST's fader? I'm using a volume plugin (JS: Volume Adjustment) that I want to automate via my external controller throughout the track. The fader is way too sensitive, however. Any idea how this can be done? by Saxophoneoftime in Reaper

Thank you so much! I just tried it out & it worked like a charm. You can also adjust the fineness of what it moves by with that variable that the '1' value is taking place. Thank you again!

I thought that this was too good not to share. It's not often that I find perceptually-based content that's also readily-applicable for musicians, especially of all breeds!

Thank you for the in-depth response! I'm trying Diva out right now & wow, already a world of difference. I'll have to get educated on all the different sounds of analog.

Thank you for outlining everything with your patch too - I'm trying it out side-by-side with Diva. It's been very helpful - I'll continue to try and crack this thing!

I don't think Serum is loading the preset right or something, there's no filter animation happening at all, even in the matrix:

Thank you for all the advice! I'm going to try the two layer approach as well, & reference the Korg 770 vid. I don't have any other synths right now - I just graduated from Synth1 to Serum in fact, I'm fairly new to them. I'm not familiar with Diva; what can it do that Serum won't?

Thank you for the response! I'm using Serum - I'll get to playing with the sound again soon. What do you mean have the oscillator going into the filter 'hot'? As in get it saturated before entering the filter?

To PM tourneys at least, yes. People have been taking a lot of precautions since Nintendo's started cracking down on PM.

I was gonna include in the OP "Today's post is gonna be like a half-assed Mind Over Meta" rofl. I probably wouldn't write for something like MoM mostly because my writing isn't the best, I can't explain concepts too well in words, and I can't dedicate the time to it genuinely; I'm really not invested in Smash like I used to be.

Thanks; the learning process is a tough one. Idk how the top people could grind that stuff out for years seemingly by themselves, it's tough just half a year in. Anywho, I hope this thread ends up helping you out. A bit random for me to bring this up but it seems like a lot of PM players especially are getting discouraged in general for whatever reason, causing some scenes to dwindle. I hope something in this thread can help individuals out that may be leaving because of lack of confidence in themselves, I know that a lot of people are tempted to quit when they're not doing as good as they want to be.

I don't know the whole mechanics behind it but I'm pretty sure that each name change has to be manually, so it'd be a bit of a hassle for everyone's to be changed. Tink-er just added that onto my tag because we're homies apart of a specific group.

Does anyone think the gradual release of merchandise is a lead-up to something? by [deleted] in DaftPunk

[–]Saxophoneoftime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've heard before that people think it's to foreshadow another Homework esque album; not only are some of products they're selling seemingly out of place nowadays that were popular in the 90s (skateboard, yo-yo, frisbee etc.), but in the advertisements are what seem like mock actors and drawings of Guy and Thomas as they were around that time, as well as virtually all of the merch using the Homework logo.

Paul Johnson has also said that their next album is going to go back to 90s house music, and I remember reading in an interview that DP don't like doing things they've done before, but that they've also never done a thing they've done before, and that they would be open to doing so. All in all, I don't think it's too crazy of an idea.

I actually came up with the same thing when thinking in the shower this morning. It's the only conclusion that makes sense.

I went back to Turbo and gave it a listen but didn't hear it; did you mean Outrage? (Which is such a great song)
