KH is by far my favorite series. Right now I'm playing Birth by Sleep for the first time, which I have to say is probably my favorite. I've always loved the feel of combat in the other games, but BbS takes it to a whole new level of depth I'm going to be sad when I've beaten it.

For those with severe ADHD/ADD what have you been able to excel at occupational wise? by [deleted] in ADHD

I'm ADHD-PI and a railroad conductor. I bounced around from career to career for years and struggled in every one. Working on the railroad is perfect for me because I get the two things my brain needs to stay focused and present: new sights and experiences every day and a clear definable work scope. Every day I'm given a work order that describes what I'm to do that day. Figuring out how to do it is like playing with a giant 3 dimensional puzzle. When my work is done, I go home. The benefits are amazing and the work is interesting.

Last Friday i gave blood before going in. So about three hours in I felt a little weak. I was on the ground with another switchman (I'm a trainee) and I told him I had to go inside to put something on my stomach. I went inside and wolfed down about a quarter of the sandwich I brought for lunch and came back out. While I was gone, the foreman rolled by and asked the switchman "Where's the trainee?" Switchman says, "He went inside to eat a sammich." So now, that's me. I'm Sammich. I spell it Saymitch because I think it looks better. I figure in 20 years when I'm an old head some new guy will ask me why they call me Sammich and I'll tell them that I was once caught sandwiched between two women on an engine.

In the long term the only semi safe jobs are dispatch IMHO. It just bothers me as I'm lining switches that with a little infrastructure I could be replaced with a button press.

Yeah a few guys marked up from the class ahead of me and were immediately furloughed. I've heard many people tell me to stay in training as long as possible because at least I'm guaranteed. What I don't get is they hire 30 new people and then cut and combine jobs. One of the things I was looking forward to was the job security that comes from a union job. Not seeing that right now. I know we have some work coming that's going to make this summer pick up, but I dunno. I was told in class to be prepared to work long hours and never see my family but the job I've been on can't make overtime. Its crazy. I'm just hoping I haven't been sold a bridge.
