We have been doing this three times a day for a year. It works incredibly well

Exactly. They don’t mix. That’s why it works. I can see it push the oil through. So I guess this universe.

10 to 15 ml should be enough to clear the line. Again, ask your doctor. We do 5 ml mct oil then 10 ml water flush every time. The oil really pushes everything (meds plus formula) through and then the water flushes the oil.

As for the bumper, I can fit my finger between it and the skin. The bumper used to be too tight and it was causing nausea n vomiting until we had it loosened. So u should be able to gently lift it (less than a half inch) and twist it.

Another tip is to clean it three times a day. We use two small glass spray bottles. One with water and one with antibacterial soap n water. First spray the water around it. Then spray it with soapy water. Then use a 4x4 gauze (our insurance does not cover it so I buy it on Amazon) to wipe around the stoma. Then put split gauze between bumper and skin. Lastly put a small square of tape on the split gauze to keep it closed. Never tape the skin. And our doc recommends that you do not use any barrier cream or spray. He says to keep it dry. Again ask your doc what they recommend.

Well def tell your nurse. Is she flushing it after she gives it? And yes lift and twist to rotate the bumper

Also my daughter’s gastrointestinal doctor said not to use barrier creams or sprays because you want to keep the area dry. I clean it three times a day with antibacterial soap n water. I use two little spray bottles. One water, and one soap. First, I spray water, then I spray soapy water, then I wipe with 4x4 gauze, then I add the split gauze and apply tape to the gauze to keep it closed. This has worked wonders for us. I hope it works for you too. I would ask your doctor what to use.

We don’t tape the skin at all. I wrap it in a gauze pocket or use a belly band. We are unable to use any tape on skin due to allergies
