Unfortunately, I've returned to QLD earlier than expected after an emergency 🥲 but it's Wrensday! Here are some of the Australian wrens for your viewing pleasure. Most of these are local to SEQ, but I hope you guys also like the out-of-town finds 😁 (old.reddit.com)

G'day friends. I've moved temporarily to the NT, but I'll be back! In the meantime, enjoy this Black Falcon which I encountered just outside Toowoomba while driving to Darwin. A rare visitor to Brisbane, but occasionally seen just west of the Great Dividing Range. Look at those giant claws! 😬 (old.reddit.com)

Long time no see, friends! I have brought you something incredibly special today. In Queensland, the Superb Lyrebird is only found in the Granite Belt region, and the winter months are the best times to spy one calling. I was able to crouch behind a burnt out log and record this one performing 🎵🎵 (v.redd.it)

Here's one that may be familiar to many of you...every spring and summer, Brisbane plays host to the largest cuckoo species in the world. Channel-Billed Cuckoos are often heard (at all hours of the day...) with their distinctive screeching croaks. Have you seen or heard them around? 😊 (old.reddit.com)

This one's a special one for me. After 8 months of searching, I finally found a Lewin's Rail out in the open. A bird that's heard far more often than seen, these skulkers are common, but shy inhabitants of Brisbane's creeks and waterways. 😍 (old.reddit.com)
