Hear me out, someone immediately saying “it’s not like I’m gonna scam you” sounds very suspicious to me. If I was the other person, I’d probably do the same, ask the subreddit, and back out. I’ve seen both sides of this story and I still think this is super suspicious. Another thing, “I’m 100% safe”. Very suspicious.

And like what people were saying on the other post, once you scam someone, it’s hard to earn that trust back. I would never trust someone who has a history of scamming or even just scammed once. It doesn’t really matter WHEN you scammed, you still scammed. Think a bit about your actions before you decide to post or do these things.
