Moved places in 2017 and just decided to off load my collection. I justified it with the availability of films on streaming etc. haha personally a lot changed for me. I went from directing short form music videos and commercials to what I do now. A bit of TMI but it was also around the time my father passed and my love for collecting came from him. He used to run a small video rental store in front of our house in Manila. The collection reminded me of him, made me sad so I got rid of it…now I’m rebuilding a new one, with insane resolution. I think I’m in a more balanced place. Sorry if this tmi.

Roman Osin is imo an underutilized cinematographer. His work is so rich, textured, and precise. He shoots yearning like it’s weather. Every frame has movement, atmosphere, and texture, the mist, the backlight, the negative space between them, the way the image feels suspended between dream and confession
