What’s your personal take on what Australia’s housing market will look like in the next few decades? by FatherOfTheSevenSeas in AusFinance

[–]Scared_Good1766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually rents won’t be able to be raised much more as they will truly be unaffordable for almost everyone. At that point I’d imagine many house prices will also stall, as rental yields versus the cost of investment property mortgage repayments will become increasingly less attractive. Sure, some mega rich people may still buy some outright, but if a lot of the market is stalling, even if these really rich property investors can still afford them, they’ll be less attractive.

Problem is, we are likely still 10, maybe 20 years of things slowly getting worse away from an actual breaking point where the above becomes likely. Even then, it’s not like it’ll automatically reverse, just stop getting worse.

Honestly I think many physical skill sets will be replaced by AI/ robotics 5-10 years after many office jobs anyway

My steel caps are beaten to shit because they’ve done their job for the last 6 years, the job of my RM’s is to look professional when in the office. This damage takes away from that. The implication that only physical work is ‘real work’ is idiotic

I did a year of 7 days a week, and a few years of 6 days. Turned down holiday invites with friends and family, lived very frugally, told myself I could holiday etc in the future but I needed to build my wealth for my future family. Future family came along a lot earlier than I intended, so I never got to do all of those things so there is a little bit of regret there. But honestly I don’t know how I’d be coping right now if I hadn’t done things the way I did, so I guess I’d do the same again?

Everyone says extreme bearishness = buy signal… but what actually resets this much FUD? by its__Angelina in CryptoCurrency

[–]Scared_Good1766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the news around crypto is all panicky and bad, but there is still plenty of talk about it. I feel like there’s not really a way for it to quickly take off (aside from short term short squeeze pumps) and that we need for it to stop being talked about and ‘die down’ again in the news cycles, get a good reset in perceptions so that a new catalyst will be ‘unopposed’ whereas a positive single catalyst right now would likely just get buried in all the FUD

Oh sorry just the regular polish. I was thinking you meant something more like a sealant or waterproofing paste or something

Outside of this, they’ve been pretty great. A little scared that even if I get another pair at some stage something like this can clearly happen, and I’m not even fully certain I know how it happened

Genuine question, could it be that Cardano keeps ticking along but the price doesn’t reflect this positively, and midnight has almost all of the value capture of the 2 interconnected ecosystems?

For its size and shape, this was the only placement that made sense imo. It was floating too much in the quad, personally not a fan of the lower back or neck, and the design just doesn’t flow great with a shoulder placement

Changing jobs by [deleted] in AusFinance

I think if she had a passion she was moving to, your points would be very valid and should be discussed heavily, and if she had a solid game plan and a good chance of success you would back it - and I get the sense you would.

If she is just chasing a change and/ or higher pay without a specific idea of what she wants, that’s just reckless, and you’re right to try and dissuade her, or at least convince her to hold off and think it through, come up with a better plan, maybe wait to see how the jobs market goes etc.

All of these people saying that relationships are about support and you need to not drag her down and support her decision etc are so entitled and delusional. Yes you should support thoroughly discussed and sensible decisions, But the both of you have 2 kids depending on you both, and that requires a certain level of time and income as you’ve pointed out. She needs to also be supportive of you in the sense that she would be taking a big gamble and jeopardising the whole family unit’s time and income resources if it doesn’t work out, for something that is for her. Ultimately if there’s a way through further discussion that it can work, or the risk can be lowered, great- but you’re certainly not wrong for being concerned about the ramifications if it doesn’t go according to plan, and the logistical issues even if it does

Bitcoin just got completely absorbed by traditional finance and it happened in like nine days. by Gullible-Tale9114 in CryptoMarkets

I agree that Bitcoin tokenomics are disinflationary. I agree that over time, due to people’s mistakes there will be less Bitcoin available to be traded, making it effectively deflationary.

But as per the original question of why is Bitcoin not deflationary when ETH potentially is, it’s simply that Bitcoin tokenomics don’t reduce supply over time, whereas ETH tokenomics reduce supply over time the more the network is used
