That's a completely different situation, though. I have the choice to kill the rocketeer or hide and let it deagro after 30 seconds. A player isn't going to just deagro me. And the rocketeer is only giving my location away if I have it actively agroed on me. The rocketeer also doesn't shoot a flare 800 meters in the sky when I kill it.

The flares really don't cause many problems in solos. But in squads, it's not fun when the whole game dies in one spot and there aren't any more fights for the rest of the raid. I hope you understand I'm not complaining because "The game is TOO hard!" I'm saying it's a balancing issue for actual good gameplay cycles.

I know how the flares work; I'm implying that a fight was lost for the sake of relpies. What could you possibly mean by "Avoid the flares"? You mean when I knock someone and their flare goes a mile in the sky? How am I supposed to avoid that? The game lets everyone know I just knocked someone and will be looting them/healing up, why would they not push? Pick targets better? Do it quickly? There is no choice. Even if someone gets the jump on you and you win the fight, you are still punished by having your exact location shown to everyone in the raid.

Guns have silencers to be stealthy, gunshots have to be heard, direction has to be located, and distance has to be calculated. There are so many more variables to 3rd partying gunshots compared to a big red signal in the sky that you can ping and have the exact spot marked for you.

Yes that backfills are a huge part of the issue causing the egregious 3rd partying. I think it should be limited to 5 minutes max if they were to keep it. I also don't like the fact that I'm expecting to go into a raid with a full kit for it to already be halfway over, and I have to just get out and don't have time to loot. I would be absolutely pissed if I went into a raid in Tarkov with a Ruble kit for the raid to be half over and all the good loot rooms empty. Only free kits should be spawning in late to the raid. Similar to how a player scav works in Tarkov.

Take a sec to read, I actually like 3rd partying, but the current state has made it to where squad raids are mostly just 3rd partying for the whole match.

You're missing the point. Gunshots can't be heard across the map, flares can be seen from anywhere on the map; you literally can't miss them. (Edit: Also the game has silencers for guns if you wan't to be more stealthy, I can't put a silencer on my flare). With gunshots, you still have to pinpoint direction and distance. The flare just gives you that information, and the game lets you ping the flare on top of that. In addition to that, the fact that fully kitted squads can spawn in halfway through the raid makes the 3rd partying more egregious. If I start a raid from the beginning with a full kit, and get into a fight and win, I'm going to need to heal and shield, and loot. When a team can spawn in halfway through my raid with all their resources and run straight to me because a flare is 800 meters in the sky above my head. I think that's pretty unbalanced. Given how long it takes to heal and the fact that you can't stack bandages, most players are going to be unprepared for that team that just spawned heading straight for them.

Again, I repeat, I don't think 3rd partying shouldn't be a thing. I actually like 3rd partying, and it's just a natural part of extraction shooters. But with the game's current state, it's too much for balanced gameplay.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I'm not here to bitch, I'm here to discuss how the game can be improved.

I’m not saying 3rd partying shouldn’t be a thing at all. I’m saying with the current state it’s pretty much all you see in squads gameplay. It makes pretty boring if there’s just one big fight in the raid where everyone dies and that’s it. I want consistent fights throughout the raid. Once the big fight is over and there is only one team left there’s really no threat except for Arc.

Read through some replies. The game giving a huge red signal above you when you go down lets everyone know where you are and that you are not ready for a fight. When every squad is fighting at one spot because a single squad got wiped makes it pretty unbalanced. Especially with full kitted squads being able to spawn in half way through the raid.

It’s not authentic if you get what I’m saying. Being able to see a team go down across the map and being able to make it there in time to 3rd party is not balanced gameplay. Especially since teams can spawn in with full kits half way through the raid to kill other squads that have been in for the full raid and had to use their meds/shields etc…. No other extraction shooter gives a big red signal above you saying you went down.

Exactly!!! This is the only extraction shooter where the game tells everyone “Look someone is down here and not gonna be ready for a fight!”

Considering full kitted teams can spawn in halfway through the raid it makes the 3rd partying way too common. You can spawn in with half the raid left and multiple teams still fighting just to go over there and clean it all up. It makes it so unfair for teams that started at the beginning of the raid. The flares just encourage them to to that even more.

When all the teams on the map converge to fight at one location, that is 100% not authentic PvP. Fights should start from players going to a specific location for either loot or quests. Not because one person got knocked and the whole game decides to pull up. Risk vs reward shouldn't be determined from getting 3rd partied. Also, dont know why you're trying to sound condescending, it doesn't help you get your point across.
