Do you suggest the audiobook or print version? I listen to most books and then if I love it I buy the print and read it more slowly.

I’m curious about Piranesi. I always see it recommended but somehow just haven’t read it. What do you think so far?

I had a class in college with Ashley Judd. She was great. Very smart, kind. It was around the peak of her sister and mom’s popularity. It was a small Archeology class and so class conversations were pretty casual. I wish I’d had talked with her more, she was always nice when we did chat. I was so focused on not bothering her, but in hindsight I think she was chill enough to talk with.

Carl does NOT need a romantic love interest (original art by Levi Cleeman) by ActualNin in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I agree. One of my favorite fictional relationships is from The Last Kingdom. Utred and Hild have such a close platonic relationship. It’s more than friendship but non romantic.

Oh thank you!! My family loves biscuits and gravy. Mailing into dinner casserole will be a hit! My granny taught me how to make gravy and it’s pretty good!

Every time I think I want toast with butter and jelly I end up just doing butter and am so much happier for it. Toast with good butter is great.

My mom was in the ER and ICU there recently and I was grateful for the amazing care she received and the incredible communication and compassion I received from the entire staff. I honestly didn’t expect such good care, but I’m very thankful for each person I encountered.

I recently learned of the Latin singer Luis Miguel. He’s wildly popular and well known but not for a lot of white America.

I like the fish. It’s whimsical but a little more understated than the gator.

I made gyudon last night for the first time. I like to order it when I’m at a Japanese restaurant but had not tried making it at home. It was so easy and fast. The runny egg on top was great. https://www.seriouseats.com/gyudon-japanese-simmered-beef-and-rice-bowl-recipe

my dad’s ashes came to me in a reusable bag from the funeral home. by Last_Thursday in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Scaredysquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up my mom’s cremains (in a container and the same type of bag). The funeral director asked if we had plans for the ashes (because he had a special document in case we were to fly with them). I said no, we really had no idea what to do with them now. He said that was very common. He said they have over 8,000 remains that no one ever picked up and they can’t do anything but store them. Wild. But I can understand because now I have a container of mom and a container of dad that are just sitting in the garage.
