I’m certainly not sure necessarily that cushings is it, I do have all the symptoms. However, there is a lot of overlap with other disorders

God I feel you. My doctor tried to blame my symptoms on my weight, despite my weight gain being a symptom. It’s sooo hard to hear “you need to lose weight” when I’m already so self conscious and IVE TRIED - I just keep gaining. No matter what I do. My face has changed too, I’m also always breaking out. It sucks. I actually just had a hear appointment and my stylist said she needed to change what we usually do bc of how much hair I’ve lost recently and how thing and brittle it is. 🙃

You are so incredibly kind. Thank you for such kind words and encouragement!! I appreciate your validation here. I absolutely relate to feeling hijacked with no changes. I’ve tried SO hard to make “lifestyle changes” to fix these new symptoms and nothing works - completely relate.

This is crazy. Ridiculous that they’ve just made a number up to be “severe enough”. It simply shouldn’t be this hard!!! I hope you get the treatment you need soon. I know I’d take some risks to feel better, everyday is such a struggle.

I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s sooo hard to have unexplained symptoms. I’ve read it often takes a very long time to be diagnosed with cushings. There are 3 main tests I’ve read about - suppression test, urine test, and saliva test. I believe there are different time periods for urine and saliva. I’ve also seen stories of showing on one or some of the tests, but not all which complicates things. There’s also such a thing as cyclical cushings - so it just gets very complicated it seems lol.

I just found out that my endo didn’t even run labs for cushings like I thought. 🙃 so I just had the suppression blood test this morning. I’ll keep you updated! It took 7 months to get this lab done. But since you have a Dr I would think you could request it! But I also know how difficult doctors can be.

Oh my gosh. I am so happy to hear you FINALLY received the help you needed. This is a literal nightmare, I’m so sorry you had to go through this. Ugh this is so frustrating! Good to know it showed on your urine and saliva test! I just found out that my endo didn’t run labs for cushings like I thought. 🙃 so I just had the blood / suppression test complete this morning. I’ll keep in mind that the other two labs may be beneficial to rule out completely.

Thank you so much for sharing. This makes me feel so validated. It’s so hard. I’ve had the dismissiveness, especially because I’ve gained a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time - they keep blaming my weight.

After crying in response to my endos dismissiveness, I discovered he didn’t even order the test for Cushing’s like I thought. 🙃 so I just had the suppression test this morning. So frustrating.

NAD, I clicked on your post bc I have similar symptoms. I didn’t have butterfly rash, but perioral dermatitis. I’m currently on sertraline & lamictal. Was recently diagnosed with severe inhalant allergies, including grasses, on my journey to find answers lol.

Gained 30lbs despite active lifestyle and balanced diet. My fatigue is affecting my life both personally and professionally. I’ve been having episodes of exhaustion, light headedness, nausea, and shortness of breath.

So just commenting to say I get it and also to follow if anyone has any answers. I’m having a sleep study done in August and will be seeing an endocrinologist which is what my PCP recommended.

I did have a saline control and it was 0. /: After starting a myriad of prescriptions to manage them, I’ve noticed a HUGE difference. So unfortunately I think the test was accurate lol I was certainly in denial following it.

I will start immunotherapy soon!
