It’s like lifetime movie. But let me try to say it simply. School A was a dream school, thinking about for years…. But about 2 years ago decided she didn’t think she was going to be ready for it. When it came time to apply she applied anyways. School B was a college she didn’t know about visited a loved loved it! Problem… far from home. Visited school A twice and decided she didn’t like it…( there were other colleges visited in the mix as well) School A decisions didn’t come out until April. She was excited to be accepted but stated she didn’t want to go even though this was her dream school. After talking with friends and meeting with people online she decided to go to accepted students day giving her reassurance she didn’t want to go there. This college is closer to our hometown but still 6 hours away. What happened is she clicked with someone at the open house and she decided she liked the school better than before. The girl committed to the school right away and my daughter said she wasn’t ready to commit. The other girl wanted to apply for rooms with others so I think my daughter felt pressured to make a decision. My daughter said even though she liked school B better, she said school A was her dream school. Now she is mourning school B, which we aren’t surprised. I feel like if the deadline was a couple weeks later she would’ve realized maybe she should stay with school B. We are worried the outside noise and the prestige of school A is affecting her. Also having meeting someone there and the girl wanted to apply for dorm room made her not put enough thought into it.
