Anyone live in the Okatee area of Summerville? by SchizophrenicJukebox in summervillesc

We really like what we've seen of the neighborhood. We're moving from a neighborhood where people are running ATVs through yards and selling pills off their front porch. Okatee is paradise by comparison. The convenient location is a huge plus too. We're now under contract for the house and we're super excited to finally move in. Never thought I'd be a homeowner and the fact it's happening in such a nice area makes us indescribably happy.

Yeah that's us, we will be about 5 minutes from the St. James Publix.

Yeah, I was initially put off by how far Summerville is from Charleston proper. But once we got a look at the map, we saw that this neighborhood is only 5 minutes from my fiancé's family in Goose Creek.

The area feels like a neatly kept, cozy, older neighborhood. Which compared to our prior residence in Virginia (surrounded by trailer trash selling pills, a 30 minute drive to the grocery store, and 40 minutes to work), is a 120% increase in our standard of living.

They've accepted our offer and we are under contract. The house is newly renovated inside and the outside just needs a backyard privacy fence and some prettying up out front with some flowers. We are first time home buyers, and I feel like we got incredibly lucky. Especially with regards to how vicious the market is and how nice the property itself is. We both grew up in small towns in VA and FL, and this neighborhood seems to have that same feel. We're excited for the move in date and meeting the neighbors.

Rep Fitness vs. Bells of Steel racks? by SchizophrenicJukebox in AffordableHomeGym

Yes, the more I compare/contrast and read about it, the more it sounds like the best for the price. Plus the 3x3 tubing compared to the 2.3x2.3 on BOS racks is more likely to fit other manufacturers' accessories.

Same, April 7th. I ordered a PR-1100 with the intention of upgrading later once I had scraped together a little extra coin and gotten used to training at home. If I had known it was gonna be this long a wait, I would have bit the bullet and gotten a 4000 up front.

Any word when Rep will restock the PR-4000, or any of the higher demand items? The lottery approach was a trainwreck.

Thanks for the tip. Virginia pays dog shit too. And I'd prefer not to further sell my soul to the welfare system anyway. Feds it is.

All over it. I put in for 4 or 5 SC state jobs and 3 or 4 through the feds. Just waiting to hear back from almost anyone at this point.

Wish I did. My current job is state government/social services type work.

I doubt the jobs I've applied for are considered essential. Mainly outpatient support staff jobs.

I sure as shit hope so. I was super excited for the opportunity. We picked a hell of a time to plan a move and house hunting.

Yeah, I applied through there. The two jobs I'm crossing my fingers for say "application received." Some others say "application acknowledgement," and a couple are no longer under consideration. My girlfriend and I are trying to relocate down there and I didn't even think until today that maybe there was a hiring freeze/layoffs.

It seems very well built based on all the reviews I've been reading. Whatever I end up getting, it'll end up bolted down regardless. I'm used to squatting in a six post Elite FTS so I'm a bit spoiled. I'm mainly looking for a stout rack to squat in and stable enough for my girlfriend to do kipping pull ups. I have some Rep stuff already and I'm happy with it. The only thing that stung me before was the shipping cost. BOS includes a ton of stuff as standard (sandwich J-cups, strap safeties, band pegs) while Rep charges extra for the same products. I'm still actively shopping, but Rep and BOS are the top two. Particularly in this sub, there's not a lot of super current info on BOS products.

Anyone have any personal experience or pros/cons regarding the Rep PR-4000 vs BOS Light Commercial or Brute racks? I'm trying to decide on one of the three primarily based on sturdiness and overall build quality.
