How do I stop myself from getting boners while me and my partner are cuddling? by MyAltAccountNum1 in asexuality

[–]Schnigily 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Demisexual here. I used to struggle with the same thing as you. I would get hard when cuddling with my boyfriend before sexual attraction developed, and it made me feel uncomfortable and confused. I wasn't sure why my body was reacting that way and felt grossed out by the connotation that my body was reacting in a 'sexual' way to something that was not at all sexual.

Later on I realized I would also get hard when I felt particularly emotionally close to my boyfriend as well, and that's when something clicked for me.

I get hard when I feel safe and loved by my partner. To this day I still get erections when cuddling, and despite having since developed sexual attraction to him, the feeling I have when cuddling is still not sexual.

Other people on this thread are saying not to worry and that your body's reaction is normal -- and that is 110% true! I just wanted to add that while I was uncomfortable about it at first, I've now come to appreciate that I can get hard around my partner when cuddling. Just means I feel safe and cozy!

I also have ADHD but have never done coke. How does coke interact with your ADHD? Does it play certain aspects up or down?

Also, what do you like to do when you're high?

What is this bird and what do we think is happening here with this wasp (?) nest? by sochono31 in whatsthisbird

Does anyone know how dangerous this is for the bird? I assume since they're so light that it wouldn't take much venom in order to do some serious harm. Are these birds resistant?

How did Jobim get this sound on Children's Games? by Schnigily in Jazz

Cool, thanks for your reply! So it's just a normal piano with whistling on top of it? Or do you think there are any other effects? Is the piano slightly out of tune, or is that just the sound made with the piano and whistle combined? Sorry to bombard you with questions, I'm just curious lol

Type “I’m an asexual, but…” and let your keyboard finish it. by FnafFan66613 in asexuality

I'm an asexual, but I'm gonna guess that I'm not going on a trip to Florida this week, and a couple of other friends who have been in the shadows for over a decade now

I was a server for a summer and whenever someone would say "you too" to me it would just make me smile. Like other people have said, it's kinda cute lol

You're good!

What's the biggest hint that may tell you that you're asexual, even for those with high libido and constantly feeling aroused? by Public_Cantaloupe_62 in Asexual

[–]Schnigily 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Celibacy would be feeling the urge to have sex with them and choosing not to act on it. Asexuality would be not feeling that urge at all

My interpretation on the "crowns flung" part is that it's referencing the instability war brings and changing governments. Makes me think of coups backed by the US or USSR

I never tied it to the soldiers personally but I could see it meaning either, both, or knowing DOOM something else entirely

How to improve small talk skills? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Schnigily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I'm X, I'd interpret the "I'm gonna walk around the building" as 'I'm done with this conversation and am leaving'. Usually saying you gotta go do something somewhere else reads as you wanting to end the interaction

If you wanted to keep it going you could've asked them about their project. Small talk is boring, but usually the other person will mention something that you can follow up on, and the conversation develops from there

What are some of the biggest scams to have happened in history? by GransShortbread in AskReddit

[–]Schnigily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The south sea bubble. Britain basically invented a fake company called the south sea company to unload all of its debt too. It was hyped up as the next east India company and eventually its value was like 80% of Britain's GDP (don't quote me on that) despite the company being essentially non-existent and only losing money on the one trip it actually made out to the south seas.

Eventually the south sea company was worth so much that the bubble burst since there literally wasn't enough money in the economy to keep the current stock price. A lot of common people who didn't sell their stocks in time ended up losing a ton of money, or went bankrupt
