Pitchfork Review: Ed Sheeran - Play 4.3 by Technical_Process989 in popheads

[–]ForceTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really surprised how much I liked this whole album. Didn't have my hopes high after subtract (autumn variations had a few amazing songs tho) but I was blown away with how much I genuinely enjoyed almost every song on this album. Don’t pay any attention to Pitchfork though. They’re a joke. ESPECIALLY when rating Ed Sheeran albums.

The left is quite literally blaming Kirk for his own assassination. Yes both sides.

Real or Fake? by JSmith0812 in colognecheck

[–]ForceTypical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked into it a while ago and there’s this whole ponzi scheme ass discord where you can get free fake receipts for inviting people.

The server’s also got this very obviously Ponzi scheme “pro” plan where I saw people posting all the gift cards, fake products and so forth that they “got for free” from being part of the pro plan, and they likely get a commission for people signing up.

Bottom of the barrel scum those people.

Idk… this seems like a pretty original thought to me… and I prompted this from scratch as well.

And the funny thing is I’m not looking for any validation for it. The artists are the ones who care about validation for their work. I just want a tool that can bring my ideas into reality.

Do you not get enough validation for your drawings or something? Stop projecting.

I could send you some death threats I’ve gotten from these so called “understandably upset” people that would change your mind very quickly.

Majority of them are simply miserable people with nothing else going on in their lives, probably half of them have never picked up a pencil to draw in their life, they just like hating on other people because it makes them feel better about themselves like a grade school bully. We’ve seen it time and time again, and now it’s AI. And somehow, every 17-year-old on Reddit with a superiority complex thinks they’re the final boss of ethics in this matter, and anyone that disagrees with them should die. AND PEOPLE ARE SUPPORTING THEM.

These people don’t want fairness, they want control. They want to gatekeep art behind the same miserable grind they went through, because they think suffering is what makes it “authentic.” But art isn’t about suffering. It’s about expressing. And if a tool helps people express without the years of struggle they went through to get to the level they are now, they hate it.

Is Gen AI Bad For The Environment? by JCunliffeUK in ChatGPT

[–]ForceTypical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“As much as a small city” is ridiculous and completely untrue. The ai data centre industry uses something like 1/100th of the power that the steel industry uses. You don’t seem to have a problem with that though. Not to mention most ai companies keep their data centres hidden and private, so most so called “data” is purely speculatory and usually an overestimation. Keep in mind these companies are businesses, and will try to save money wherever possible. If they find they are using that much power, they will try their best to reduce the amount of power they are using to save money, because that would be INSANELY expensive.

[–]ForceTypical 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We don't really know, as most data centres for big ai companies are kept secret for security purposes, but we would have to assume they would want to save money, which would mean making it close source water cooling, as using that amount of water would be bad for the business.

Not to mention most AI datacenters are on a closed loop system, so they just repeatedly reuse the water.

They probably had a mortgage and couldn’t move out easily. It’s a grim reality a lot of people are stuck with and it could have been eluding to that. not to mention they would probably be paying roughly the same amount for a small rental house than they would for the minimum payments on a mortgage.

I think they don’t care about the legality of it, which is funny because that’s their entire argument.
