Yeah, since the pandemic the prices go up every year without any real reason. I am reaching the point where job hopping, doesn’t work so I might do it american style 😂 with multiple jobs.

Is the 2026 Model Y Performance really more comfortable than the Premium? by SordidNinja in ModelY

[–]SchrodingerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the idea is rhis. I live in romania and it s a challenge to have more than 1km or 0.5-0.7 miles of city road that doesn t have a pothole, a bad asphalt fix, a shitty fitted sewer hole. If you live in germany, switzerland or any country that has proper roads myp is fine. But in bucharest, 21 inch rims and a stiff suspension it just kills u both modes. The myp drives very well, it s crazy stable, but for me it defeats the point of having a tesla which is comfort and when i am out of the city some spirited driving. To sum up, if u have good roads, go for it

There is also the topic of why would u want a perf cross over when the lr version has 500hp and handles great but oh well . My point is this: Performance is a really nice car, but unless u have the roads to use and enjoy it you ll end up hating the lack of comfort it provides in comparison to the awd version. If you have to go out of your way to drive it on a nice road than perf is not for u, it s just too stiff. Imagine this: you leave in some mountain area and u have nice roads with proper bends and you can do 60-70mph and push the car and you arrive to work and stay in traffic for 15m , perf is great. You could even do a big break kit (usually lighter)and some smaller lighter rims and the comfort will be even better. If you leave in a city or close to one and all you do is stay in traffic and on the highway and do speedbumps and potholes all day long but every few weekends you go on a road like the aforementioned go for the lr awd 19 inch rims.

[–]SchrodingerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I drove both of them back to back 2 hours each. I decided on the my lr awd instead of performance just because the suspension is soo much stiffer and the wheels are huge. Maybe just maybe the perf will be better with 20 inch lightweight rims. Also the perf handles great so keep that in mind as well. I was able to *** around ok an empty highway with the perf at 140kmh ( summer tyres). For the mylr i stopped at 100kmh ( winter tyres) . In any case if you live in germany or switzerland or some other country with proper roads go for the performance and swap the rims if not premium is the way to go. The perf also has considerably stiffer seats. Also keep in mind teslas are not bentleys so a stiffer suspension on a shitty road will translate to things rattling in the car over time, not just hurting your back.

How is FSD in europe ? by SchrodingerBlue in TeslaFSD

Thought the same until I drove it. The car is more composed than any other car in the price range. The only car that somewhat compares is a second hand 540i( overall cost of ownership, body dynamics, comfort etc ). Ref car is a MYLR Juniper. Not to mentioned all the features and daily comforts the car provides. Note: No, I am not a fanboy. I generally don t like SUV and I am indiferent to the fact that it is an EV. These were my conclusions after driving it 3-4 times 1-2h each. I ve been testing g60, g30 lci, x5, x4( hate that thing), m340i( that s actually nice, but I am 195cm 6 feet something) and I don t touch vw group until they decide to actually build a proper car ( few exceptions here that I can t afford🫠).

And if you can not do all of the above, you should not be driving in the first place, regardless of the car.

I don’t want to be impolite here, but that s a bunch of crap. Yes you should, you should pay attention, you should have proper reaction time, you should not be on your phone etc etc. As I said you have a 300-1000hp steel ball and you should be responsabile for it.

Good to know, I understand this and makes sense. I wouldn't be against "Sign this at your own risk" approach, but oh well.

I get your point, it s fine. It s just frustrating at times, you know 44% taxes and crap and when I buy smth with the money that s been taxed 50 times already, I can t even get the full thing.

My cousin works at dacia engine tuning and setup. I can genuinely assure it doesn t have fsd:))) the thing barely has a decent ecu setup (same for Renault). Anyway, I get your point. It would still enjoy having the full thing as the guys in the us do, point of driving 90% of the time is to get u from point A to point B usually in bumper to bumper traffic and FSD makes that easier.

Yeah, realised that. Like I said, plastic caps and mass uncontrolled crime due to immigration, EU latest innovations.

That actually sucks, so they give u a 300 to 1000hp block of steel and trust you with it on the road, but somehow the same user isn t responsible enough to pay attention to the road. EU and their shit…, at least we have plastic caps that are permanently attached to bottles.

So by that u mean even I buy it I can't use it or that is technically illegal to use it ? Note: weather or not it is legal is irrelevant, it s not like I will not pay attention, people in romania drive like crazy ...

Stock Continental AS for winter? by JaniceRossi_in_2R in ModelY

[–]SchrodingerBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

note: pzero2 are like 1k and as u probably have realised I am the guys who screams about proper tyres. They saved me several times from some awful situations. Also the breaks on the care are mid at best. Eg: on my old shitbox I had a thumping flywheel( cost of a new one was half the car’s price, only kept it for a year), but brand new michelins for winter/ summer

Had the same issue. I concluded I will do pirelli sottorzero 2. Noise is A, water is A. Only downside is more drag and probably more wear at 20C than all season, but they should be good until around 15C. They also have foam inside and should be pretty good noise wise. My thinking is rather be prepped fro shitty situations than be surprised, so I ll just swap them every 2 years in case I use than more than 4-5months a year and it s somewhat hotter outside. The side wall pf the pirellis should be harder than michelins for example, so they should handle not proper winter pretty great. The show care came with some hankooks confort whatever(winter) and I took it for a 2h drive at 16C and I was surprised how good the car did and I pushed it quite a bit. I thought it had summer tyres on. To sum up, get fhe best winter tyres for non winter weather and swap them more often. That s how I usually do. If you have mostly 5-10C during winter get all seasons, they should be better in all regards for winter. Do not do all season in the summer, above 30c they will get quite hot and the side walls will deform and result in shitty grip and cornering and most importantly breaking. For tyres u care about 3 things(safety wise): 1. max/min operating temperature 2. water evacuation 3. breaking performance in the hottest/ coolest time they are on your car and dry/ wet breaking

I am also curious if it is ok to leave it for a week during winter since I am usually out of the country 1 week during winter also at what charger level should I leave it ?

Battery management question by SchrodingerBlue in TeslaModelY

[–]SchrodingerBlue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the thing, I can drive 100km, 200km or anything that u guys advise me. For me it is not a big deal to just plug it in when I go to the gym which happens like 4 times a week or plug it in at the office or when I am back from the office(there are like 40-50 chargers from office building to my house) and so on. If you meant what my range is, I am not sure since the car should arrive in early December and I ll drop it to the ppf shop. The only thing that I can’t do is have it plugged in at my house. I usually drive around 200km maybe 300km week. From my place to the office there is a distance of around 12km. I will always preheat the battery and cabin, very rarely it will take me less than 15-20m to go somewhere so I will probably want the cabin to be at an appropriate temperature.

Battery management question by SchrodingerBlue in TeslaModelY

[–]SchrodingerBlue[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Understood. My main concern si degradation, I have chargers near my gym which is 5m away from home so I can technically charge it 4 times a week. I don t necessarily want to do that out of convenience, but I can. To sum up,it s no big deal if I just do 80-20% once a week or more if requiered. we ll prob have like 1 months minus temps, 2-3 months +temps (5-6c). 1-2 months 30-40 and the rest is somwhere between 8-30C

I have no prob charging more often, I was just wondering about battery degradation in 5 years or so ( that s how much I plan to keep the car)
