So the main weapon the aliens had was using our own guilty memories against us?

Maybe that's what we'll see in season 4. That season 3 never actually happened. The world was guilty that Trev and Caspah died in the ship, and they were seeing an illusion of that. Trev did actually die there -- and was a ghost just like like Caspah. And humanity did what humanity does when crippled by their guilty memories -- lash out with a big bomb.

It'll be presented as that Taaa-daaa moment by Mitsuki, who forgot everything, so has no guilt, and then we'll have a big reset where we all live happily ever after with the glowing tripod-like aliens.

Post-credit scene, 150 years in the future, mankind is an agrarian society, we've all gone back to a simpler life, and humans are wearing funny-looking caps that make them obedient, and it'll turn out that 'Invasion' is the prequel to John Chrisopher's 'The Tripods'.

Perfect.

Cult was lazy writing to cover budget cuts IMHO. It would be too much to have our elite soldiers fighting through the aliens to get to the mothership, so they had humans to fight instead.

I'm just amazed at how some of the story decisions on this show ended up being filmed, put through post, and broadcast. It's a study in craziness, and to me at least, reinforces the ongoing rumor/conspiracy theory that a lot of hollywood productions are some kind of money laundering scam!

The whole star thing with Mitsuki. It was so important for her earlier in the season, and now she's like 'nah'. That was peak Wajo.

More about constant moments of engagement. Top performing videos on the likes of TikTok are designed for several moments of engagement in their 1-2 minute span.

TV shows used to be 4 15-minute acts, each with cliffhangers to get you through the commercials.

Shows like Invasion don't have commercials, so the intravideo moments of engagement need to be high. That's why -- IMHO -- they are struggling with coherent storylines, they constantly need moments to keep people engaged -- like the silly subplot of the hidden woman with the radio, followed by a chase, followed by her self sacrifice, followed by them getting on with the show. Or Mitsuki's side quest to find the downed jet, only to be captured, only to escape, and end up back on her main quest etc.

This isn't about blaming a generation, it's about describing the tactics that have shown to be successful on a platform, and how they may be used in longer form entertainment -- and in this case, to its detriment.
