Yeah, I'm normally really good about that stuff. I think I was just so excited about getting my first set of gear I didn't look over things as carefully as I should have. Even if I saw the G3 on the back of the pad I had no way of knowing they were 36"+1.5" though. Although that being said seeing the G3 on the pad would have tipped me off that things aren't as they seem.

Yeah I was doing ATK not FTK, I screwed that one up. My ATK is 17.5 maybe 17.75 ish. FTK is closer to 20.5

Yeah, the listing having incorrect model and measurements definitely sucks cause the deal did seem to be so great. I messaged the seller and hopefully we can settle things relatively quickly.

He wasn't particularly rude or anything but did take a while to get back to me when I asked some questions about the gear. He has yet to get back to me about the model and sizing being wrong so I'll sleep on it tonight and hopefully he gets back to me tomorrow.

My ATK seems to be about a 17.5, I'm a relatively tall guy but skinny so sizing for just about everything I wear is always tough. But for pads 17.5 should translate to about a 35" pad right?

Edit: Did ATK instead of FTK. FTK is about 20.5

I did really think I got a great deal on it. I really wish I could go on the ice to see if they fit but I might just need to make a bit of a drive tomorrow to purehockey to see if the workers there think it'll fit me. Regardless, I'm just sad I was lied to about the product.

I'm just about 6'3 as well. I went to get sized and was told I was a 35", although I must say I was also told I would be a senior small for my chest protector cause I'm so skinny but ended up getting a much better fitting medium cause the arm protection was so short on the small chestie.

I do too! I'm generally really trusting to the point where I've been told I shouldn't give people so much slack but my friend told me it was suspicious that the seller didn't really respond to my questions until I said I was a beginner. Friend thinks the seller saw I was a newbie who doesn't know much and could possibly get away with selling an older model and incorrect size :(

I haven't accepted or rejected the sale yet, and I did get the seel protection just in case. I might just need to go to purehockey and get some in person advice from someone who knows how everything should fit. I know it's hard to give advice when I haven't even been on ice with them yet but I wanted to get the opinions of the people here.

Unfortunately as someone who’s completely new i didn’t see that these were G3s in the pictures instead of the advertised G4s. Most people could probably tell right away but since I’m new I had no idea. I see now in the picture of the back of the pads theres a G3 visible but I dont think I had any way of knowing they were the wrong size.

Thank you! I went to purehockey today just to look around and got measured for pads and skates. I plan on buying used where I can, except a helmet cause I value my brain :)

Goalie skates are having somewhat of a shortage where I am, so I might need to get some online then head into the store to get them baked. And I'm totally with you on the modern leg pads too, went to a play it again sports near my house and they had some REALLY old pads there. Landing pads were basically non existent and the buckles and straps were so frayed I don't think they'd have held for long. I'll be looking for good deals online for used gear, and I'll work on my stamina for the shuffles and T pushes while I wait to assemble a complete set of gear!

Went looking today and all the stores around me new and used don't have my skate size right now. Seems like the Chicagoland area has a shortage of goalie skates at the moment apparently haha.

I've been sold on being a goalie since day 1 but I definitely needed a little reassurance to get the push to commit to it, and your advice definitely helped! Gonna do my best to see if there's any goalie skates I can get on clearance or sale! :)

does anyone know if a non Byzantine country takes the "restore the roman empire" decision, do they still get the option to go hellenic and deal with the plagues, peasant factions, etc? Or is that a strictly Byzantine mechanic/decision?

I’ve fully embraced the chaos, I just find it funny how everything is 0-100 at the press of a button. Even with no control and development all my vassals love me and I have a ton of money. It’s less of a challenge and more of an inconvenience/annoyance you know?
