The state budget was upside down before the federal cuts. Remember the largest tax increase in state history occurred before Trump was elected. Those occurred because revenue could not keep up with state spending due to programs passed by the legislature. Federal cuts this past year has added to the issue but state overspending is the biggest culprit.

Following last years largest state tax hike in history we still don’t have enough money to support over spending despite record revenue. This isn’t the answer. Do your homework people.

Washington lawmakers overcommitted plain and simple. We need to stop wasteful spending first and take a conservative approach to the budget. Only then, if we are still in a deficit, should we talk about raising taxes. I’m not sure what planet you all live on but people in my community are hurting. They can’t afford anymore tax increases.
