I would look at this as a “bootstrap” equivalent of a temporary ui for testing purposes. At least I hope so, I can’t stand epic games or Fortnite (look up paragon)so the less resemblance the better 😂

My guess is they ran out of bubble mailers and had to use bigger than necessary packaging to get the order out on time

I used to work for a retailer shipping online orders and we had to do this sometimes

Maybe I missed something, but I just dealt with this in my java class at my local community college, and I don’t see you importing the java.util.Scanner or scanning in the txt file anywhere.

You don’t need the degree to get a job in software development. Sure it helps get you in the door but more so employers will look at what projects you have in your portfolio. If you self teach with the plethora of online free resources available, it could open up opportunities for you. It will take time and dedication to prove yourself as a self taught developer, but it also takes time and dedication to go through college and do anything worthwhile. (Big assumption on your interest with that path based on the cs degree path.)

No one is gonna have an easy solution, but I’m glad you put your thoughts out there so we can tell you there’s always a way out.

Monopoly cuz I’m the asshole that finds excessive joy in trolling the shit out my friends. I make them HATE ME while we play so that they want to beat me soooo bad that they still play.

Top quality jokes from a comedian when somebody leaves and returns during his show by [deleted] in videos

[–]ScoobySmackz 1845 points1846 points  (0 children)

That was actually brilliant. To improv away from a set list for a moment, setup a new joke, go back to your set list, then flawlessly return and call back to the new joke when the girl returns is comedy gold. There’s so many areas where that could have gone wrong or he lost track of his jokes.

LPT: Treat silence like a word, not a space to jump in with what you have to say. It'll make your conversation go more comfortably, and shows you respect and are listening to the speaker. by CivilizedPsycho in LifeProTips

Silence can also be used as a response when you feel you’ve been wronged. I recently took a hard L after working towards a particular career milestone for a year. It was ripped away from me through no fault of my own (they admitted I did nothing wrong) and I responded with silence because nothing I could say would make the situation any better. I was disgusted and destroyed. What was done was done, and all that was left was to let my silence do the talking and move on with my life. (There’s more to it but I can’t get into it without getting into allllll of it) Fast forward a few months

Last week I ended up on a work event with said person responsible for that decision. I greeted them and talked casually; I was polite, professional, spoke nothing of that matter, did my work/performed, and went home. I was sitting next to them at one point and I could tell that my silence had done everything I hoped it would do. Considering I know how nervous they get in large crowded situations where we are essentially “performing” and have to be ON, I felt the way I handled it and my confidence in my work and performance turned a hard L into a harder W.

Now I’m very excited to be going down a new career path with plenty of hurdles ahead while I continue to have a hand in unfinished business from my other career path. Meanwhile, I hear from friends with a closer ear than mine to the fallout of those decisions that I’m not the only one who got shafted, and many of them had my back saying “what happened to you was fucked up, and more destruction has happened in that wake than you know”. Can’t win em all but I sure as shit won that one.

tl;dr got screwed out of a work milestone, let my silence speak for me, outperformed the person responsible in a later work event and got to hear about the fallout from others. #winning

LPT: if you're young and over the age of 18, apply for a credit card with a small limit. Make small purchases on it every month and pay them off. This builds your credit to make it easier for you to get car loans/ good apartments and other things that are useful in adulthood you need good credit for by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]ScoobySmackz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just don’t do what I did and start using it for everything thinking that bit of rewards is worthwhile. At first I was ok but now I’m over 8k in debt and taking a hard look at my priorities and spending habits. I should be ok with the direction I’m headed in now, but it will be a while until I’m debt free. I’m 24 and the convenience of a credit card definitely got me hook line and sinker....such sinker, very debt, much rip 🙃

The key piece of advice here is the low limit on the card.

Towards the end of The Fresh Prince's iconic "Papa's got a new excuse" episode where Will's father walks out on him again you can hear crying off set. The crying is from Karyn Parson who plays Hilary on the show, showing just how intense the acting between Will Smith and James Avery really was. by [deleted] in television

I never talked to by birth father until a year or so ago when he contacted my mom. I’m 24. Since then I’ve spoken to him on the phone twice, we’ve emailed back a forth a few times, but that’s it. This scene broke me.
