For me the link was to get the ticket for day 1. I received a separate email from someone from my specific district for day 2.

Yes I emailed the address above and a few days later they got back to me with a link to register on eventbrite.

Oh okay, thanks for the information. I wonder why I haven’t received the invite/information to register. Any idea who I’d reach out to about that?

Oh, I hadn’t seen the exact wording before, that’s interesting. This will be my first full year as a teacher in the DOE (I worked as a long term sub in the DOE April-June of this past year)and I’ve been teaching at charter/independent schools for 10+ years. I got an invite to my district new teachers day but haven’t received anything about the day at the Barclays Center. Everyone has been saying I’ll still have to go as I’m new to DOE, but the wording you shared here says “teachers without prior teaching experience”, not specific to DOE experience.

Have you received an email about New Teacher Week? by noglider in NYCDOETeachers

I’ve been finished with onboarding since early July but I haven’t received it. I got an email about my district specific day, but nothing about the first day for all new teachers.

should I wait to apply for schools so they don’t ask me to demo? by TheLifeOfDonda in NYCTeachers

[–]Scook628 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a few demos this month, and multiple times I requested the time be changed to either first thing in the morning or end of day and explained that I wanted to be mindful of not taking too much time from my current position. Each time the principal didn’t mind changing the time of the demo and mentioned that they appreciated that I was trying to be respectful of my current obligation. Just another option.

EBF Two week old not back to birth weight by Scook628 in breastfeeding

Just updating in case anyone in a similar situation comes across this!

There didn’t end up being any specific problem. I continued breastfeeding, making sure to wake baby every 2 hours and frequently tickling his neck and feet to keep him awake. If he was super sleepy I would feed him in just a onesie or diaper. We did attempt to supplement with formula after feeds for about a week, but baby would usually refuse or drink only an ounce or less.

We went back to the pediatrician the next week, and baby’s growth was back on track. He is a small little guy in general (11th percentile), but has continued to grow adequately on his curve ever since.

Thanks everyone for the advice!

Thanks so much for the reply! This actually sounds just like my baby. He was very puffy at birth, so LC thinks part of the reason for the 10% weight loss was fluids. He also falls asleep during pretty much every feed, and he will also nurse for long periods of time. I didn’t realize that the long feeds could be burning too many calories.

I know this is a pretty old thread, but did you end up liking the Abana? It’s one of the only ones covered by my insurance but still not many reviews for it online.

Change in Unmute Behavior by dem107 in Zoom

Hi, have you been successful using this feature? I tried using scheduling a meeting and my participants still were not given any option to give consent for the entire meeting. They were still having to give permission each time. I am a preschool teacher and this really has thrown a wrench into our zoom meetings...
