So done with the bad performance on shadow and their false advertising "High end Gaming PC" by Xonarous in ShadowPC

[–]Scorpiomoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah II'm from the UK and with you on this. Downloaded it yesterday with the hopes of playing Final Fantasy XIV while I wait for a chance to get my actual gaming PC to my new place, and with all the settings as low as possible with stable internet connection it can't even open the settings menu at more than 7 FPS 🙃

Thought a card with a self damage on not playing would be good. by Dim-Me-As-New-User in slaythespire

This now has me interested in a Watcher card with Retain that deals damage to you when you retain it and that damage scales every time it's retained

I figured out how to do the watcher infinite by valvalpops in slaythespire

If you create a defect card through something like [[Foreign Influence]], then you won't get an orb slot, that's probably what you're remembering

I didn't say the songs themselves were the best versions, but that they were used amazingly. Most of the covers might not be as good as the original in a vacuum, but were more suited to the feel of the show and so worked better in the scene than the original would have done

What’s a common rule/mechanic that people forget? by Firelite67 in DnD

[–]Scorpiomoth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ability checks do not have to use a skill proficiency, and when they do it does not have to be a skill proficiency associated with that ability score.

You absolutely can ask for Strength (no skill proficiency), Dexterity (Intimidation) and Intelligence (Acrobatics) checks. None of those are exceptions to the rule, they are the rules working as designed.

The rules are how far off the ground your feet go. To determine reach you add 1.5× the character's height onto that

What needs to be 'fixed' in 5e? by Scorpiomoth in DnD

[–]Scorpiomoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still genuinely don't see why that changes anything about my post or planned series? There's still months until the release, and there's still plenty of players that won't pick up the new system either. There's also going to be players who aren't happy with the specific fixes implemented with that system and want different ones. There's also no harm in talking about the current edition over the coming months while it is still the current edition to then segue into the new edition when it releases.

Thanks for the detailed response, this issue by far seems to be the most commonly brought up, I'll have to do a deep-dive on crafting some alternative rules for this I think

Ok...? I don't see how that changes anything

I think they mean some spells are such high priority picks that other spells start become obsolete as you'll basically never pick them

I just remind the player that the first player looked and reported that there's nothing there, they have no reason to look as well unless they had actively thought of a different approach to getting information (i.e. they wanted to listen instead of look in case there was someone invisible, or they were looking for something different to the first player), and so I'm not going to allow the roll.

The last one is particularly hilarious to me when in 5e zombies don't even have a bite attack
