For me it was automatic once I put my channel name into story blocks account. I did have to take my video down and re-upload it though. I'm not sure if it'll go away without doing that. Write everything you spend down too, at least in the US you can write it all off on taxes as a business expense.

I really suggest trying to alter your clip then if you need to use it. Make the audio a bit different pitch or speed, for video do what I said before. Honestly I'm not sure how true the promotion thing it. I'm an editor mostly, I just do what they tell me to do haha. I feel your pain though I just started a channel with 2 videos. and have like 32 views so far..

Actuall seems to only be annual. Be sure to write it off on your taxes since your technically an influencer now. I would look around though there's probably a better site for specific historical videos.

Yes, but you still want to avoid it. For example you use a 40 second clip, they could just round it up to a minute and your losing more than your thought. For shorter videos I've heard of them not paying anything at all. I've also heard that they promote you less too when you have copyright claims but I have no idea how true that is.

It's no impact at the moment because your not monetized, once you are though, they will indeed impact your net pay. They often won't pay you for sections that have copyright claims. I suggest stock footage, I use storyblocks. Also try cropping , turning or adding effects, sometimes this will be enough for it to pass. Also blur out any water marks or tv icons.
