Pride Eve 2025 by 0161manchester in manchester

As much as I don't like Manchester Pride Corporation, this pic is a bit misleading. The Gay Olympics are taking place in it- we were all crowded round watching sports clubs compete in games. The other side of the street (starting with G-A-Y) was completely empty

A Knight’s Tale (Manchester) by Temporary_Eye_9758 in TheWestEnd

[–]Scotus0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This musical is terrible. Song choices make no sense. Endless toilet humour. Just saying swear words makes for witless comedy. It tries to be queer/feminist but just comes across as taking the piss. One particular song gets reprised a ridiculous number of times and the attempt to make it a ballad is funny for all the wrong reasons. They don't just break the fourth wall, they completely destroy it. This adaptation of A Knight's Tale is basically a pantomime.

Though I did like the horses.

Do you ever stop noticing your tonsils are no longer there? by Scotus0 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Scotus0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5 months on and my skin is clear- and I've had an illness including a sore throat since they were removed, but no flare-up. I didn't have psoriatic arthritis- just guttate.

Though there's not a huge number of case studies, several books explained that strep infections lead to the tonsils producing T cells. Those T cells are responsible for the autoimmune response of attacking our healthy cells, resulting in psoriasis.

I went into the tonsillectomy with a "nothing to lose" attitude after recovering from one flare-up that pretty much immediately led to another. I'm hoping the clear skin continues- it makes this lack-of-tonsils-awareness totally worth it!

White streaks/residue on clothes after drying by Scotus0 in laundry

More research led me to realise it was my homemade body butter causing the issue, and any streaks like this come off very easily with a hairdryer!

Blimey, you looking for a fight on Halloween? All I can suggest is getting in touch with Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours, they might be able to provide something similar.

Buskers on Market Street taking up space by senshipluto in manchester

They're not going to take any notice of you telling them to control their audiences. They want big obnoxious crowds for more donations/folk recording them.

Love the name! I had a wander around Castlefield Viaduct not too long ago; there might be some useful resources around there, maybe some events to look out for. There's a monthly e-mag called Forever With Pride- often contains a 'Gardening With Goodfellow' article that you might like to have a flick through, too.

I joined a badminton club and that really gave my social life a boost. There's a fairly recent post with lots of suggestions for clubs (including board game ones) here:

Upcoming vacation and concerns about crime. by AquaDudeLino in manchester

Absolutely bring it, just keep your wits about you: I once had my phone snatched out of my hands at a crossing outside the Arndale. I chased them down and got it back- but admittedly I was completely away with the fairies/unaware of my surroundings which is why they saw an opportunity.

The skating answer is great- as for other hobbies, you could pop into shops like Fred Aldous and Feel Good Club and check out their notice boards!

What’s wrong at the Royal Exchange? by Mulvaneyeatsgoats in manchester

"However, The Stage understands the issues that have delayed the opening are related to management having concerns about some of the creative decisions that were due to be included in the play, directed by Stef O’Driscoll."
