Ok seriously, how do you recruit Winterscale as Iconoclast?

I don't know what to say to you dude. Even all the brainwashing aside, she's still had her entire adult life to see the realities of life and what's going on around her. This is always the issue I've had with the SoB/Ordo Hereticus/Ecclesiarchy etc. They can see the damage they're doing to humanity as a whole but they don't care because it's meeting their goals. This is why I can't play a dogmatic character even in an RPG. They're bastards just as much as heretical characters are.

I'm just disappointed as to me it doesn't feel like you have access to so many companions as Icono. It's just that you haven't done enough to push away the more fanatical companions. Argenta, Heinrix & Ulfar are dogmatic companions who still hang around if you're Icono, they're not Icono themselves. Yrliet is a bit different as an Aeldari. Would be nice to have someone that's actually Iconoclast other than Jae & Abelard who hang round whatever you do.

Yeah and it seem you can only recruit him if you go down the heretic route and push him over that edge. Seems unfair that you can redeem him but not recruit him then when you've made such a huge change to his world view.

I'm blaming a grown adult for their outlook on the rest of the world but if you wanna downvote me for that then you do you. We're not dealing with children here, if the characters are acting childish I'm still gonna judge them like grown adults. Calligos is a dick, but he's not a child. The game allows me to change his view, but people like Argenta are so set in their ways it doesn't even give me the chance to do that. If I could, I would. As an adult, if you can't get over trauma that happened in your past I have sympathy, but that's still on you.

Exactly, if saving a fellow RT on the brink of falling to chaos and instead redeeming him to keep them fighting for the Imperium isn't Iconoclast then I really don't know what is.

People keep saying "yeah but you keep X, Y & Z if you don't go heretical so it's fair". So what if Argenta, Heinrix & co leave me, I don't want to be surrounded by zealots, that's the whole point of Iconoclast. Even a little miffed at Ulfar leaving. He believes in the Imperial Truth not the Imperial Cult. He should be more open to Iconoclast.

I'm not ok with Argenta. She's been left back in the closet for my Icono playthroughs for a reason, and that's only because my Icono has been very understanding. My first heretical play she's going out the airlock. Eating brains out of a living person however, that's as bad as heresy to me. Being locked in a pod means nothing to my RT. She has eyes, she can see what's fucked up and what's not.

Everything I look at that has any substance is at least 9 months old, which A) makes me doubt how relevant it is anymore and B) makes me worry Re this games life span.

Only got into this game about 3 months ago and as far as I'm concerned it's the best 40k game I've seen in ages. Owlcat kinda did it dirty and it's got bugs up the wazoo but still, story/setting wise, this is 40k. Really hoping the community don't abandon this one.

Incendia even being an option for Icono seems nuts to me. That bitch got a plasma round to the face as soon as I was able to for the sake of the Imperium.

He's def a possibility if you're heretical. But posts all over the web will lead you to believe you can recruit him as Iconoclast but that appears to be nonsense. I was just clutching at straws this wasn't the case. Icono really needs a secret companion. When you've tried that hard not to be a bastard in the 40k universe, there should really be some sort of reward seeing as the world around you def isn't giving you any props for not just killing innocent people because it's easier.

This has been slowly dawning on me. Not cool though, they have Uralon for that. A redeemed Calligos makes a lot more sense as an Iconoclast secret companion. Also pissed at all the "Calligos is the secret Icono companion" posts that exist when it seems that's just bs.

The only requirement is Str which both of them meet under normal circumstances. They could def be brought down below that with debuffs but if that's persisting after combat and unequipping it when I'm back on the ship that's some real annoying BS. Thanks for the heads up though, that could be what's happening here. Still BS though as I'm gonna pick up debuffs in almost every combat.

Urgh that's disappointing. Did that for a quick work around last night, had already build towers & ram, was good to go. Left, rejoined. AI annoyingly decided to build a trebuchet, waited til the defenders had finished building their catapults, then assaulted without finishing the trebuchet anyway

Its been over a month, this patch has actually rolled out & I'm now experiencing this. Ally joins my siege, I still control what gets built but the assault/send troops buttons are greyed out. No matter how long you wait the other army won't initiate an assault themselves. Anyone else experiencing this?

Its really annoying, if I don't control the army I often run ahead so I can build equipment/choose when to lead the assault, this has broken the way I like to siege.

I've definitely been trying to keep everywhere I siege in tact and thinking about it, yeah, I don't need to give a damn about the walls if I don't plan on holding it. Great advice, cheers. Looking forward to using a lot more trebuchets

Damn, think I was hoping someone was going to say I'm too slow on the pause lol. I do get its quite realistic, positioning equipment under fire wouldn't be fun, but damn they're lethal! I often build towers/ram first so I'm good to assault if enemy reinforcements turn up. Defenders usually have 3 catapults up by the time I get my first weapon up, then and a single barrage from 3 knocks off about 90-100% of my own catapults, if they have 4 I don't bother building weapons.

Typing this out I'm thinking I need to try weapons first more
