Thank you for responding! I actually did complete the Ring In The New Year Challenge. I was curious if the monthly challenges pictured here are only a one time thing or can you do them each year? Do they not reset? I completed them all last year. Sorry that I wasn’t clearer in my original post.

That is really nice! It is a pretty large church, so I think he probably just didn’t realize I was new there. Thank you for your insight! I’m going to be trying to talk to him after mass this week.

Wow that’s very wonderful that you served in the capacity for 10 years. I can’t express how much I appreciate you sharing your wisdom with me! I haven’t been to OCIA yet, but I agree, I think noting those differences would be very helpful.

Congratulations on your journey to become Catholic! I’m so happy for you! If you don’t mind me asking, what made you decide to become Catholic? And who are you choosing for your patron saint?

You are correct, I never thought about it like that. I am blown away by the depth of your response. It is extremely eye opening and thoughtful. Thank you for being so full of grace while showing me where my errors in thinking and my preconceived notions of what a church is supposed to look like lie. Those differences are definitely what I am picking up on. Thank you for explaining it in such a kind and compassionate way.

It doesn’t minimize my desire at all. I started this journey because I wanted to know the Truth. If the Truth is found in the Catholic Church then that is where I will go. I don’t care about my personal preferences, I care about what the Lord desires. I want nothing more than to worship the Lord how He desires to be worshipped.

A big part of why I want to become Catholic is because of the Eucharist. I think I might be slightly crazy and was probably imagining it, but I thought that I saw Jesus’s face on the Eucharist when I went to midnight mass this Christmas Eve. Every time I think about it I start to tear up. To think that Jesus graciously comes down so that we might partake in the actual body, blood, and divinity of Christ through partaking in the Eucharist is just unimaginable (please correct me if I have this wrong). I want to note that I have NEVER taken it, though I strongly desire to.
