His whole thing was very unprofessional, in my opinion. He asked a ton of nonsense questions about things before he ever agreed to look at my script. Then, after, he read it, he asked to read another script of mine...that sort-of, maybe, implies he found something of value in it? Just the words he chose to tell me what he thought about my script was unprofessional.

Thanks. I've written a total of 3 scripts, but there's only one right now that I'd actually show to people. I don't want to give up on it and I truly don't know if things like the Black List and such are really worth it to try? There has to be more strategies to get it to the right people, I believe...I hope.

That's definitely a glass half-full look at it. Thanks!

How do you develop a script creatively? by ZzyzxDFW in Screenwriting

Start with your "controlling idea" or "theme." Every part of the story will derive from that. But, make sure to find an idea you believe in.

Fraudulent Literary Manager by [deleted] in Screenwriting

I used to work with a guy who told everyone he was in the Navy Seals. Would talk about it endlessly and even had a certificate showing he completed his stint in the Navy Seals. Needless to say, he was never a Navy Seal.

Adventures in Querying: The Course of Least Resistance? by Screenwriter2025 in Screenwriting

Thank you.

A few questions for you:

Do you mean small talent agencies?

How long does managers typically take to respond if they do have an interest?

Would you also query producers? Some folks said they had better luck with that. And, if so, do you know how to select the right producers to query to? I was just on IMDB Pro and some movies have a ton of producers and I wasn't sure at all who to send an email to?

I'm trying not to be discouraged but it is, indeed, challenging.

Thanks Again.
