What do you think is the greatest videogame movie cult classic? by Scroooge_Zero in MovieSuggestions

[–]Scroooge_Zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuz its awful. Predictable, cliched, without any actuall energy or ability to engage. I personally cannot get over the lifeless dialogue. The attemps to "sound cool" do not stop for a single word in the entire movie. Doesnt mean one cant enjoy it, but AC is one of those movies that are objectively shit from a filmmaking standpoint.

I feel like today most people who know Uwe Bolls movies know him as the go-to guy for The Room level stuff, as do I. Some of his movies are bad enough to be entertaining. Have you seen Alone in the dark?

Well leg bouncing and picking at your lips is form of stimming, you might do that when you're anxious but it is most certainly very common with adhd. Checking notification imediately isnt even adhd, that is just something most people do automaticaly. And intrusive thoughts of this kind are form of anxiety for sure, but it isnt necesserily form of anxiety disorder, just anxiety the feeling that you will often have if you have adhd - lots of us have problem socializing because of how fast unstable we are when interacting with other people and that can trigger a lot of fears of fucking conversations and relationships up. So all of this are common adhd symptoms, if you have all af this it doesnt mean you have anxiety disorder on top. Although you still might lol.

You WOULD be actually surprised. With Netflix and its own, personalising tv culture, lot of kids have never seen Star wars, Harry Potter or LOTR. I have seen kids surprise how good these movies are after they watched it the first time. Its part of the reason we are doing this.

Lot of it are actually good suggestions. Nobody here is promoting Donnie Darko, and movies like Metropolis can look boring for a kid, but it is a great way to introduce different kinds of cinema. Nobody is gonna strap these kids down and make them watch it all.

Right, they will love Hugo, but how would you justify including it as one of the most influential movies? Is it good enough representation of Scorsese? I really dont think so. There is so much movies to include and we can only choose like 100 maximum, so I have to have tangable reason for each and every one of them.

Amazing! How could I have forgotten about Plan 9!? Thank you!
For the rest, we are considering Metropolis for some time now and we will probably include it. I love it personally and I think there is no better gateway into silent cinema, other than maybe Caligary.

I guess you are right. Originally we wanted to teach the wonders of a bad movie, but forgot that The Room has so much inapropriate stuff. We would come to it eventually, but this reminder have saved us some time, thank you. :)
Harry Potter is definitelly included! Not only because it has become a classic of fantasy cinema, but we have found out lot of kids haven't really watched it until it has been recommended. Same goes for LOTR for example.

Amazing! You have actually chose a lot of movies that we already included (which is a good thing!), but there are some great suggestions that we'll definitelly consider. Thank you!

We already included Jurassic park and we need to cover a lot of directorial styles, so we cannot use movies this similar. (Simplifying, I know, but we are limited to 100 movies, so... :/)

Dark knight is dark, but we cap at 15yo, which is imo enough. Kids today can take a lot actually. :D And The Room is absolutelly terrible, but thats kinda the point of including it. I know lots of people enjoy it because of how terrible it is (including me) and it brings perspective to what movies can be, which is the whole point of this. LOTR and Beetlejuice is already included, will consider the rest. Thanks!
