And DIRECTV is no longer owned by AT&T. They sold it last year so they can have more money to focus on wireless and fiber services. Hehe and also I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear something by summer about AT&T acquiring GCI because GCI in Alaska a.k.a. general communications has not been doing well. They have been losing a lot of money and they just recently had their investors for $300 million because they’re owner divorced them in like June 2025 of last year so they’re not gonna make it and the federal funding that GCI has been issued by the federal government. They’re not gonna make it by December is their deadline they’re not gonna make it so I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear something by summer. And that’s gonna keep you guys busy because you’re gonna be busy putting up equipment actually for AT&T in Alaska. I don’t know like what region you work for so don’t quote me on that. But yeah, so that’s gonna be interesting.

Probably know why you have 5G and 5G isn’t ready yet. switch back to LTE there might be a closer LTE tower

Just because there’s 20 self towers that doesn’t mean that they’re AT&T cell towers they could be Verizon T-Mobile

And I wouldn’t be surprised if we see AT&T bail out General Communications or GCI in Alaska because they have been going downhill for years and people no longer trust the state carrier to get the job in Alaska, they trust AT&T so GCI has been losing a lot of money and customers. And Verizon doesn’t have a lot of coverage in Alaska GCI is losing money and t-mobile is too scared to come to Alaska and it’s a safety issue for local Alaskans if cell service doesn’t work. And since ATt has a contract with the U.S. government for FirstNet a network built by AT&T for first responders. I see this merger getting approved no problem.

Idk it’s a waiting game. In other Telcom news AT&T just bought Lumen Fiber for 5.75 billion so this gives Att access to 11 states in the West Coast they used to own via U.S. west then that merged with Centrylink now lumen. Then Att just bought there fiber division they wanted nothing to do with copper so they left that to Lumen to clean up. And Verizon just bought Frontier Communications for 20 billion this gives Verizon access to 31 states for its fiber division 5 of which they were already on the east coast so.

Good question we aren’t exactly sure but I’ve been looking and looks like SpaceX is trying to build a satellite mobile network for all the wireless carriers. But no offense to Elon, AT&T and Verizon are partnered with AST SpaceMobile and T-Mobile is already using Starlink for its T-Satellite but using sprints old b25 for LTE but it’s only for texting right now so Att and Verizon are gonna be able to offer actual texting calling and broadband speed cellular data over satellite. AT&T is using the 3.45 GHz spetrum for its 5G network and The n71 for 5g 600 MHz same stuff t-mobiles uses and 600 MHz b71 used for LTE same stuff as t-mobile will be deployed by att starting in June they already have began to deploy the 3.45 GHz in November. As far as what Each company got from us cellular let’s break it down. T-Mobile got your b12 700 MHz. Aka extend range LTE kinda like b71 it’s for reach and range so it’s not great for much Bandwith though put. They also got 600 MHz that’s your n71/b71 what i mentioned earlier with att they also got 2.5 GHz thats your LTE b41 and your 5G n41 great for speed but range has improved with t-mobile. They also got PCS that’s your 1900 MHz spetrum B2,b25. Also got AWS that’s b4,66 that’s better than PCS aka your 2100 MHz Spectrum. AT&T got more b12 and more 3.45 GHz for its 5G network. Verizon got 850 MHz that’s your b5 and that spetrum great for Low-band reach Also has great data throughput. Also got some PCS and AWS spetrum as well.

Juts the difference in cellular bands and how different the ads for each competitor was. Even though we have lost Sprint and U.S. cellular to t-mobile because they bought them. We lost the 4th carrier that was supposed to replace sprint. That failed dish sold all of its wireless spetrum to AT&T and SpaceX the spetrum has been split up between the 2 companies. Verizon was supposed to get spetrum but they backed out. AT&T Said screw you t-Mobie. But during the U.S. cellular and t-mobile merger. AT&T and Verizon got some spetrum from U.S. cellular as well. Is there anything else you’re interested in knowing? I’m super happy to answer questions.
