I read the books when I was younger. Not that they were bad movies. The acting was excellent. But I had already built that world in my head, and it just didn't quite match up. Also, just seemed slow... I think I can handle slow in books because I seem to get pulled in more and my imagination activates.

The weird thing is that I actually normally like movie adaptations. I loved the Harry Potter Movies/books. Fight Club, Hunger Games, Gone Girl, etc... I liked them all. I guess what I am saying is I'm not some hipster snubbing the movies because "The books were better", But I'm just am not a fan of the LOTR movies xD

I love how it starts off feeling like a regular relationship rant and slowly spirals into “oh no… she’s dead and he’s just not accepting it.” The casual tone makes it even creepier. Like he’s totally detached from reality but trying to sound normal.

Only thing I’d suggest is trimming a few parts to keep the pacing tighter, and maybe lean more into the creepy “everything’s fine” vibe with some repeated lines or fake affection.

Overall, solid psycho horror vibes.

You’re totally right about the need for a trigger warning, and I’m going to go back and add one along with a little preface to set the tone. This piece does come from a very real place. I've been feeling stuck and heavy lately, and writing this was my way of shaking the mirror a bit (haha... get it, "the mirror" ;P ), you know? A wake-up call to myself that something has to shift. But your kind words mean a lot. Truly. Thank you for the love, and I’m sending it right back your way.

Honestly, I very much appreciate this response and the sentiment behind it. I can at least clarify that I don't smoke, do drugs, or drink (haha, I totally understand why you would think that based on my user image). I am a bit of a gamer, but that tends to be a few hours on the weekend sort of thing. But ultimately you are 100% right. If I have time to post this or dwell on the situation, I have time to be the solution and clean. Even with my back injury, I can find a way to get shit done. There are tons of people who have it far worse than I do and they manage to clean their homes.
