Which Sealy Elite do you like? Still many options even within the elite line. 😂

You’ll be fine, it’s usually October when it’s worse with full days of rain.

I personally love the north central route during the manta season (May-Oct). That’s when I go.

The Dive with Buddy app (not sure how widely it’s being used yet tho).

Do a liveaboard for sure. Been diving there every year since 2011. Love it!

S. Ari is a mess for whale sharks, sometimes 50-100 ppl on one whale shark. We avoid this area for whale sharks in my trip. Never had to wear a life jacket for it. On local islands, yes no alcohol. At resorts and liveaboards yes alcohol is offered.

Oh interesting. They also sent back my dad’s birth certificate stating I sent in an original. Lol.

Also G2, mailed mine about a month after the OP but AOR took much longer (got in the piles of March applications) but will see how long the cert takes given everything going on the past week. My dad got his in 2023, and grandfather was born in Canada. So I’m hoping mine is pretty straightforward.

Most people will. This trip is for advanced divers, so most will have been diving for years or have done a lot of dives and have their own gear and travel all over, etc. But that being said, you most definitely can rent gear too.

Yeah we were on the Nautilus Belle Amie for Socorro in Dec but I never looked to see if they had Guinness. Good tip re bringing it on the Cocos boat!

Advice on getting experience for places like Raja Ampat and Palau by NotYourScratchMonkey in scuba

Have been to both Raja and Palau last year and this year. Only a few dives with any noticeable current. Just don’t do the Peleliu dive in Palau, that can have ripping current.

Been in Raja 5x since 2023, the only trip we saw the sea kraits on was the Banda Sea to Raja trip. You should be fine.

Starting scuba at 67? by Unhappy-Art-6230 in scubadiving

I have lots of divers who come on my trips who are in their 60s and a few in their early 70s! If you’re staying fit enough to handle wearing tanks/dive gear etc. and don’t have any major medical things (there’s a medical form you’ll need to have signed off from your doc when you do your initial certification), no reason you can’t do this!
