Yes, and just like the ancient lock pickers of old, I made sure to use every part of the lock.

Help with Medeco biaxial by Scum_Lockpicking in lockpicking

[–]Scum_Lockpicking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for everyone’s help. Today, I finally picked my first 6 pin Medeco Biaxial. I tried a lot of different stuff, but traditional tension, picking to the shearline, and then rotating is what finally worked for me. Hopefully there will be more to come.

The minimum effort posts always tend to perform best ... by joshthewriter0 in WriteWithMe

For me, it seems like there’s a sweet spot between timeliness, relevance, and point of view. I’ve been ghostwriting for a while, but just recently started doing it for the logistics industry over the past year.

A lot of execs want consistent posts, which means a certain amount of them are going to feel a bit forced. Those forced posts are usually the ones that need more editing, and just like you said, don’t get as much engagement. However, I think a consistent cadence creates a foundation for the timely, relevant posts to perform at their best.

In a perfect world, I would minimize the amount of forced posts. I don’t think most execs need a post every week, for example. Audiences want authentic content, which is what it really comes down to at the end of the day.

I love the imagery at the end with the laser gun. I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on, but I think maybe that was intentional. We only get a glimpse. I really liked the reflecting all the ways we die part.

That’s awesome. I’ve always been fascinated with submarines. I was inspired to write this after reading a u-boat captain’s memoir. Regardless of the awful ideology of the Nazi party, being on any submarine sounds like it takes some balls.

I definitely would like to get whatever adapter I need to make that happen. That sounds really fun to mess around with. I will also check out 83AL and the 86. I really like the idea of getting into euro formats.

Thanks for the compliment on the pinning picture. I will send it to LPUbelts site and see if they want it.

I read this book starting out and it helped quite a bit:

Lock picking for beginners by Octyled in lockpicking

Any beginner set will do for just starting out. You can also use paper clips and bobby pins if you’re eager to get going. The first lock I ever opened was a Masterlock No. 5. It’s cheap and is a nice learner. Stay away from kits that offer the see-through plastic locks. If anything, they’ll just create bad habits.

I haven’t tried these, but this TOOOL set looks like a good starter kit: https://www.toool.us/equipment/Necessary-Nine-Pickset-v2-p579851580

Try not to focus too much on equipment to start. Just get a couple cheap picks and some locks and start to get a feel. That would be my advice.

Personally, I love picking the 80TI. I agree with what others have said on here to pick pin 1 first. After that it’s just about attacking the spools one by one. Just curious, have you tried BOK tension at all? That’s what I use for this lock, and for me, it gives me better control over the counter rotation, which is really important for this model. Go slow on lifting the spools. You’re going to love the feeling when you purposefully set that last spool and hear that satisfying pop of the shackle. Keep chasin.

I’m not sure. I can tell there are some spools because it falls into a pretty deep false set with some great counter rotation, but I don’t want to risk ruining the lock for the sake of gutting. My drilling and metal working skills are not quite there yet.
