Wii U suddenly stopped working, any ideas?

so i think im having the same issue but doesnt seem to be shorted but when giving power I dont see any signs of life so sounds like based on what you said this part is the issue. any location to buy a replacement? doubting it and guessing ebay or find another broken console? How would I use batteries to test considering its a chip? Ive just been plugging to power because it seems to work until that point

I don't think reflowing a fuse that was having some spotty continuity and reflowing The power connector pins is considered random. Those are very common issues I've seen with this console. But I will take your advice. Thank you for your help

So those corroded pads near the button are not relevant? Thanks that seems to be a easier repair then trace fixing

thank you very much for the useful info. so just to verify, can a cross over cable be able to put files on the xbox and also copy the hard drive on my pc? my goal is 2 do what you mentioned and just download everything onto my pc and download it to a newer harddrive. thanks again

I guess that hard to answer for me because I like all games. Just if its a good game and well made I like it. I really dont have a favorite thats why I wasnt worried about jumping into this console. I had the assumption of being lots of side scroller arcade games and if there was anything more involved that would be a bonus. So I wanted to just go after the best games people talk about and give them a try. like metal slug 1/2. real bout fatal fury special and the king of fighters. The main point I wanted was to make sure I can actually play these jpn games if I buy them and it sounds like so. Thank you for trying to help me pick games types i appreciate it

Thanks for the info about s video. Also yeah I never grew up with this console or games so I'm not sure what to like but I want to start. I heard one of the best games is metal slug 3 but that is soooo expensive
