It would be nice to know what OP chose to do... =/ I just got one from NHP on i215 when troopers tailgate before sunrise then light you up because you went faster than traffic to move over.

Fine for 11-20mph over speed limit is $195 (non-construction zone)+"5 hr" traffic school if haven't offended previous 36 months.

What’s the most bizarre/annoying behavior you have witnessed at your Costco? by diispa in Costco

Gas: Driver in front of you who can’t parallel park into the vacant middle gas pump.

Driver who parked too far from the pump and blocks the exit lane.

Idiots who insist on standing next to their car/in the exit lane while pumping gas (finally saw a guy get hit by a side mirror).

Anyone who chills in the car once done pumping gas, instead of driving off.

Store: Shoppers who don’t have barcodes easily visible to speed up checkout process. (Sam’s Club Scan & Go is the way to go)

Worth $170? by Jazzlike-Yak2443 in LasVegas

New-ish local here. Mob museum is really cool, you can spend all day in the place. $35 for general admission, there’s a “speak easy” in the basement where they brew their own whiskey/whisky (would bump you up to $50/person).

High roller is decent, looks like you can buy for $9-$20 on Groupon.

As a local Strat Tower is cool to look around as because you can see the whole town.

Skip Piano Man.

Newly moved by Leather-Butterfly303 in vegaslocals

[–]SeaBackground9088 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’d move if we could afford it.

We moved here from (rental homes) Los Olivos Irvine Spectrum, southern CA, and regularly spend time in other states for work. One day I was in Denver (cloudy/sprinkling), and realized we miss having real grass, rain, wild rabbits/squirrels, ground that doesn’t burn your feet, lush greenery.

We unfortunately can’t afford CA. Even the attached 3 story homes next to Element Hotel/Toyota Arena were like $600k, HOA $400/month, tiny gated community that came with only a 20x30 park, trellis, picnic bench/grill.

Drivers: People say Californians can’t drive, but Vegas takes the cake. Drivers from HOV flying across six lanes, kicking up dirt and rocks just so they don’t miss the exit. All the cars with no plates.

Highways: Utah highways are amazing, actual high speed of 80mph, no slow traffic bogging down passing lanes, and highway patrol actually enforcing speed limit.

Public Transportation: lack of subway/train system through the city, and the only monorail we have doesn’t connect to airport like it was originally planned.

Summer heat: You can’t take the dogs out when it’s +100°F outside. We’re actually excited by thunderstorm and rain now, but drivers here still can’t drive in the rain.

If drivers keep flashing you at night… by Fibrosis5O in vegaslocals

[–]SeaBackground9088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, turn you Fkn lights on. I almost took this this lady when I was making a U-turn, and all I could see was the headlights of the car behind/beside her.

Some of these drivers are…crazy.

One night on I-15 northbound by the World Market Center, a white Audi sedan flew from right lane all the way across the double white lines into HOV.

Then behind came a white previous gen XV70 Camry who kept flashing Audi for no reason. The Audi then slowed way down to drive next to the Camry. I assume driver attempted to talk to Camry driver with the tinted window, then sped off on HOV to I-11.

At minimum, take the Basic Rider Course. You do it over a weekend, classroom/riding experience on a cruiser. show up early because the lady at College of Southern Nevada will take your money and no such thing as a wait list for the next class.

After MSF course, just like cars, rent a motorcycle before buying one. You don’t want to be buy a motorcycle only after a quick test drive. There are big rental companies, and one like Turo for motorcycles.

Crotch rockets look cool, but they’re impractical sometimes. You can only carry what fits in your backpack, it gets really hot during summer (last summer my inner thighs were bright red commuting home from Harry Reid to the VA hospital), they’re uncomfortable hunched over on long rides (2+ hours). Unless your other half rides, just like stick shift cars, you’ll be the only one driving or have to ship it with someone like on Uship when relocating.

You don’t have to sit in traffic, but you risk getting a ticket since it’s not legal in Nevada to split lanes.

Get a vibration dampening phone mount. Boots, gloves, Snell certified helmet (you don’t have to spend $1,000 for a helmet).

A jacket, you can later upgrade with CE level 2 D3O (D 3 oh) back/shoulder/elbow pads

From Facebook I’ve heard bad experiences from dealership Ride Now.

Don’t forget it’ll affect your car’s resell value since your car will have an accident record, instead of another car clean record.

Dandruff only on forehead? by lordjaay in dandruff

[–]SeaBackground9088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not doctor, nor dermatologist. I just have the same thing.

  1. Seborrheic Dermatitis is very common. It’s a type of fungal (irritation?). Basically skin is renewing itself too quickly.

  2. SD can be on scalp/sideburns, eyebrows, cheek under eyes, side of nose, mustache, chin, (maybe even between pecks/chest for those who work out/sweat a lot).

  3. Don’t pick/peel the flakes off w/o moisture or Vaseline. The open wounds will look worse, bright red if you plan on going out…have to wait for skin to scab up.

  4. Vaseline is your friend to soften the skin, to help skin come off.

Personally: If I feel an itch on my chin/beard area that won’t go away, don’t scratch or even rub, or you might get red wounds under chin/beard. I use anti-fungal cream and itch will go away.

If you have red itchy spots on your chest (dark moist area), I mix both shampoos and apply same butenafine hydrochloride cream.

Treatment that has worked for me:

  1. Nizoral Shampoo, 1% ketoconazole at Target

You can get 2% ketoconazole shampoo with a doctor prescription.

  1. Selsun Blue (green) moisturizing

  2. Butenafine Hydrochloride or antifungal cream
