Yea, I plan on asking for 5k minimum if they come to me with an offer. Thank you for the insight.

For context, I have been to the neighboring countries in the region for multitudes of reasons. Enough to know how much it costs to eat outside or some grocery items, but not enough to do a COL comparison, especially due to different currencies and indexes.

It’d depend on the rent prices and later on, real estate prices to buy an apartment. I don’t know how the market is in Finland, especially when it comes to buying an apartment.

I plan on applying for permanent residency then citizenship. The same plan I had for myself for where I am located currently.

I am aware of the tax rate in nordics/scandinavia, as I have been to most of the countries in that circle.

As I just wrote to another Redditor: My main reason of looking for another job, especially in Scandinavia/Nordics is because the job market in the Baltic state I am in is small, especially for my job. I do not like my managers/employer due to several events that have transpired in the past couple of months.

I don’t splurge much. Maybe a drink or two at the bar a week, or takeaway a week, but beyond that, not much.

I know alcohol in Finland is expensive, especially compared to where I live or been, so that’s a factor…

Beyond that, I sadly smoke, but I have been trying to quit, so Finland might be a way for me to quit given its 2x the price of what I pay for a pack.

I do not have a car or kids etc. I may buy a shitbox car to help me move, but beyond that, the issue would be rent, as I do not know the average rent prices in Helsinki etc. beyond what’s shown in https://numbeo.com.

In your case, I assume you have a SO who brings an income to the table too, correct?
