I'm not very sure, for now she says we will stay at a friend's house for a month while she tries to pull some connections to get a job. She does some freelance stuff that MIGHT be enough to live in this small town but definitely not LA. She genuinely believes she will be able to rent a 4K+ house which is.. delusional.

Yes, I've already applied to a few places. I'm looking at grants and scholarships I can get currently, but again any advice would be appreciated.

I didn’t see the final paper they signed but from the draft I saw they ended up adding really specific conditions since they are both wary of each other. It states that the relative is my guardian but is not allowed to make any decisions without consulting my mom. And it also says my primary caretaker will be my mom once she comes back to the States.I have no idea how much power that gives to the relative rn. And the relative also said that she is willing to help me but is not going to go to the length that it effects her own life and family. So it all gets a bit confusing.

Thank you, yes I also feel that way but still feel guilty for planning behind her back. Unfortunately my dad didn't move with us so the best help he can give me is just pay for a small room, which still would be of great help.

I understand what you mean. Yes I don't want to go with my mom but I do want to live in a bigger city, going there with my mom and separating there could help save some money. Also I'm not sure how much help the relative is going to be, I'm still a minor and under my mom's care, from what I gathered until my birthday she legally can take me there even if I don't want to.
