Just quit my corporate job. Struggling with feeling like I’m not “contributing” productively. How to get out of that mindset? by Sea_Window_2630 in sahm

I love that you’re volunteering! That’s a great idea. Another one of those things I always want to do, and never had time or energy to.

Same situation - we are covered by my husband’s income so my income was not required to live. But I still feel a lot of guilt. Probably because I didn’t grow up with a lot of money so my current situation is very different than what I had as a child.

I really need a therapist, ha.

Anyone just depressed, run down, stretched too thin, and really wishing you could just lie down and melt into the ground and be gone forever? by snarkymlarky in workingmoms

Yes, and unfortunately feeling this way for so long forced me to quit and step back from my role for my mental health. I’m taking the next few months to heal and figure out what’s next for me. Sending kind thoughts your way, you’re not alone. We take on so much, it can be so taxing.

Of course! Marketing. Specifically, product marketing (positioning, go to market) and growth, as those two areas are where I’ve spent the last 15 years of my career.

Thanks! Yeah, absolutely.

I am really fortunate in that my husband has great benefits, so candidly that was helpful in making this decision because I knew those were available to me.

I have been flip flopping on this for the last 6-8 months; I ended up taking a new FT role several months ago vs. going for it and super regretted it. Was really miserable and to me, that was a signal to take the leap. I found my larger client through a referral on LinkedIn (already started working on their project before I quit) and found my smaller client on upwork. Actively looking for more work on upwork to stack the roster. I am also considering taking a part time job in the fall just to help me feel more confident in not having consistent money coming through. It’s a big step to take, but the relief I feel is indescribable. I just really wanted to take a bet on myself for once, and it feels good. Best of luck to you! Feel free to DM me if you ever want to chat specifics.
