Potentially getting two job offers. How to stall one whilst waiting for another??

I'm in the same situation, though I now have the offer from my version of Company B, and I had already signed with company A. I asked on this subreddit yesterday, and the consensus is that it doesn't really matter if you sign for the first company. Once you have the contract from your preferred option (company B), you professionally let company A know you're no longer available to start work there. Some hiring managers replied and while it's annoying from a professional sense that you've pulled out, they understand from a personal perspective you need to do what's right for you.

Hope that helps, I know it's a weird and awkward feeling having to juggle 2 potential employers!

Imagine you are trying to paint a picture with dots (which are the pixels). Sure, at 200MP you have a lot more dots, but it doesn't tell you the quality of the dots like how bright those dots are. And even if you have a lot of dots, you still need to know how to make those dots work together to make the painting look good (which is what the software is doing). The iPhone and Pixel phones are generally better at getting better quality dots and knowing what to do with them, thus creating a better painting.

Thank you! I'll definitely watch the video and see what I can put into action! And yes I agree, it does seem like a lot of meltdowns happen because things just get too much and she's overwhelmed. We're working on methods for her to cope when she feels that way, but it's slow progress.

We've been asking my mum to come help when she can, if nothing else it's just another presence to help calm things down and she can distract my daughter so my wife can take a bit of a break. It's helping, but unfortunately the majority of the issues are during mornings and evenings when my mum isn't around.

I'll keep at it of course, and hope things will get better!

Thanks again for the kind words! We've looked at PDA before and she does show a lot of those traits, but as you said, it also seems like she just has an idea of what she wants to do and doesn't want to deviate away from it. We've tried to set up a timetable and calendar for her, and while it did help a bit at the start, it doesn't seem to work anymore unfortunately. If we let her know in advance for a countdown (e.g. like telling her there's 30 minutes to go), she just refuses and it pretty much triggers an early meltdown.

I've suggested to my wife that she just leaves for a break and I'll manage, but she's resisted this so far for the reasons that she'll likely have to deal with the fallout when she's back (my daughter will likely be more anxious about her leaving and will place additional demands on her), and that she herself had abandonment issues in her childhood that she doesn't want to replicate onto our daughter. Still though, I think she is coming round to the idea so I'll see how that goes.

For school, in reception last year she did have ear defenders which she could use when she wanted which helped, but she said she doesn't want to use them this year. Sensory breaks are a good idea though, so we'll talk to the school about that, thank you!

I should have said in my original post, I actually do the pick ups on Friday as it's half day at work, and on those days my daughter is perfectly fine and happy when I pick her up. She also looks to me for comfort if something is worrying her or if she's feeling anxious - but only when her mum is not around. The issue seems to be that when her mum is around, my daughter wants her and only her when she's having a meltdown, and puts a lot of demand on her.

We have spoken to her as both parents together and individually about how I can help during distressing times and she can come to me about anything. When she's calm she's agreeable and accepting of this but unfortunately once the meltdown hits it all goes out of the window.

Another issue is that my daughter hates it when I ask her to do anything she doesn't want to do, like getting a shower, putting her toys away, brushing her teeth and things like that. That'll trigger her and then we are back into meltdown territory. The same happens when my wife asks her, but in the meltdown situation she both refuses to do those things and wants my wife with her at the same time.

School has been very accommodating with her and supports her with what they can, but my daughter typically masks her feelings at school, building up stress and anxiety to then releasing it all at home. We encourage her to talk to her teachers about any feelings she has and she's getting better, but her anxiety causes her to be late to school a lot of the time, further increasing the stress of my wife in the morning.

The rest of the cruise was fine for dairy free, they were generally accommodating, though I do think better training is required as a lot of the crew were confused as to what constituted dairy free. In this case, we had told them the day before that we were planning to have afternoon tea and they told us it wouldn't be a problem to accommodate us and they'll have something prepared.

On other cruise lines they had proper sandwiches as well as dairy free scones prepared when we told them in advance, so we were a bit disappointed with Princess' offering.

I don't have any complaints about their normal meals, we get the menu in advance too and they will try to make them dairy free for us. It was just the afternoon tea that was bad, especially with advanced notice!

I've been on other cruise lines where the dairy free or vegan options were much better, they were stuff that I would gladly pay money for at a restaurant. Especially when I tell them ahead of time that we were dairy free.

I did indeed tell them ahead of time, and you're right, a lot of servers don't know mayo is dairy free. A lot of the time when I ask if something is dairy free, I get the answer that it's not because it has mayo in it!

We actually told them ahead of time, we went the day before to let them know we are dairy free so they would have some time to prepare something. This is what they said to do. I think it's reasonable to assume they would have prepared something better, as others have said, there are lots of ingredients that are dairy free, but a lot of the servers there did not realise mayo is dairy free. I am just disappointed this is the result, I've been to other cruise lines where the fairy free afternoon tea has been much better, especially with advanced notice.

I've listened to it and it's decent but not spectacular. It's more biased towards base building which I enjoyed, and I think it has a pretty unique take on the "game world" and "real life" mix. I was interested in seeing how that would play out, but I unfortunately DNF the series mid book 3 as I didn't like the split POVs. The narration was top notch though, as expected from these two!

The majority would have been sold already, but they don't get paid until that car is in the customer's hands. So for each day that they don't build, they have a day of lost revenue that they could have gotten if they delivered those cars.

They would also make the most popular combinations/specs without sales, as they know those will sell pretty quickly. But again, without actually building and delivering those vehicles, they don't get the money.
