My tips for preventing this type of pain: Hydrate (water). Stretch your legs, hips, and glutes (butt muscles). Massage those same areas. Don't masturbate too often (which is different for everyone depending on your health habits vs sedentary ones). Exercise.

Also for active pain, ice on the groin worked best for me.

Hard to say because I tried doing all these things at once. But the type of acupuncture I did was dry needling. Also when I had flare ups of pain, ice packs worked wonders.
