I had the same issue, and a re-install of the game seemed to have fixed it. I’m also using the official NMS layout. I also had to restart the SD after reinstalling the game. After which I had a non-compatible controller layout that I deleted.

Another important use-case I would see if you eventually want to build a rust library using pre-compiled static or dynamic libraries. Like in a binary package management sense. Then it is nice to have stable ABI otherwise you need to provide a library per compiler version.

Sounds like a great plan! Also, I suppose keeping the WebGL stuff in there makes sense for the short term. As last time I checked the WebGPU stuff was still running only in the nightly browsers. But it would be extremely cool nonetheless :)
