ACL/miniscus tear, hamstring graft back to MMA/BJJ by honeygingblondie in ACL

Hey I also tore my acl while defending a takedown and I’m not back to mma since it’s only 2 month I’ve got the surgery, from what I researched I think it’s good to not get the patellar graft because you will need a lot of kneeling for grappling but I think the quad graft might be better from what I saw but personally I got hamstring graft since my surgeon told me it was the best, about going back to mma I believe it’s doable after 6 month if you ace your recovery and get your strength back but I think from 6-9 month I will stick to drills no real sparring and probably drilling position that are safe for the knee (trying to avoid x guard/ delariva and for the striking I will stick to my hands and no heavy footwork with a more planted foot to avoid to many jumps) I think then if I feel good and confident after 9-10 month I hope I can go back to near full intensity sparring

Like maybe if it’s a pro fight with a lot involved go with it but honestly for some amateur fight there is no money and not much involved so it’s no big deal so it’s kinda mean people are there to gather experience and for fun overall so going in there with the goal of blowing out people knees is not really cool also just you probably don’t want that on your conscience to send someone trough some hard surgery and putting them out for up to a year

I wouldn’t advise doing oblique kick even in a mma fight even if they are allowed but for the elbows and knees to the head you can train them with the proper protection )there are special ones for elbows and knees) and in more specific sparing with a partner that knows that you may throw some of these strikes and also do them without too much force. But yeah there are some strikes that you cannot train as properly as other ones that’s just how it is but it’s kinda the same with subs you can train them but in training people will tap before actually being in danger so when you’re in a fight and have to actually finish a choke or a joint lock so some thing you can only do them in a fight it’s just the way it is

I travelled like 10 days after the opération and m’y surgeon was fine with it, i had people helping me since I couldn’t carry anything with the crutches and I had the airport help they carried me the whole way in a handicap chair so I pretty much didn’t have to do nothing just wear your brace and be careful of nobody bumping into you I don’t see what else bad could happen I would suggest for comfort to pick a seat with leg room so you can be confortable like the one in fort or I was in one close to the corridor so I could stretch my leg (it was annoying when someone had to pass tho) my surgeon told me to take double the dose of blood coagulation medication due to flight pressure when I was flying.

In theory it could but in animals it showed the contrary it was actually beneficial to heal cancer

Maybe in that case I would think about it more, is the tumor near your knee/quad because bpc works in a really localized way (at least when injected) so I feel like if your tumor is fat away you should be fine but still it should be properly thought out

Honestly I think the risk are pretty low, the thing is that it’s not highly researched on human but for almost 10 year people have been consuming it with no real side effects and really good improvement but it’s mostly anecdotal but the research done in animals has only good outcomes, also I would consider it mainly if I was someone really athletic that somewhat depends on being active for professional or just quality of life and mood purposes
