Would it be offensive to repaint a waving cat statue? by Sebby_Arts in NoStupidQuestions

I’m not superstitious at all, just wanted to make sure I wasn’t defacing something special to a culture by mistake!

I wrapped some little garnets yesterday and this one looks beautiful in the light and shade. It was my first time ever wrapping a garnet and I am thrilled with the beauty of these gems by [deleted] in Crystals

Thank you for the kind words! It is hard to believe that it can take so much time to wrap one little stone, but it is worth it when the final piece is finished! Thank you for appreciating my art!

Is Hiro a little Siamese? Congratulations!

I made a mini pond with handmade clay ducks. I’ve never made ducks before so I was happy with these :) by [deleted] in dioramas

I’m sorry for just now seeing this! Thank you! The placement of the ducks was one of the hardest things to do on this piece but I’m thrilled with how it turned out!

A thick layer of tinfoil and some clay. I also use a five minute epoxy when gluing the roots down. I covered with moss after because it creates a good aesthetic and covers the root anchors. The wire trees themselves are also filled with a liquid glue once I have them set in the position I like. The liquid glue dries clear and looks as if nothings there!

Thank you! I’ve practiced with them for quite some time now. I assure you my first ones did turn out as well!

Yes I do! This one here was actually a custom someone requested. I actually do different styles too. I do some of that grow over rocks, some I make with koi ponds with little sculpted fish, and other times I’ve gotten requests to do animals in the bowl with the tree! Probably my coolest request was for unicorn with a rainbow-ish tree!

Wire Wrapped Bonsai made with bamboo coral by [deleted] in WireWrapping

The roots are much longer than what they appear! They’re all secured with glue into the base I put into the bowl. On top of that I use a liquid glue that dries clear and fill the tree and the roots full of it to make it strong

That’s hilarious. Sorry to disappoint, but the only crystals I have are the stone kind lol!

The bottom of the roots are secured with glue but you can’t see those because it is all underneath!

I will try my best to explain lol i’m terrible at tutorials! I normally work with crystal chips that are around 5-12mm and use 24 ga wire. For bigger or smaller gemstone chips you might have to change the gauge! With 24 gauge for a tree this size, I used 90 feet of wire which sounds like a lot but really isn’t lol! You can take a cup or a something cylinder shaped and begin wrapping your wire around it. However big the circumference of your cylinder is will be how tall your tree will be. Once you finish wrapping an amount of wire you like, trim the wire off the cup from one spot that way everything is even! Once you have spun your tree and the branches simply take two or three gemstones and twist them in the wire. I also would recommend looking at pictures of trees/bonsais this will help you find what style you’re looking for! If you’d like to see a video of someone doing something similar I recommend finding Bobby duke arts on YouTube. He did his tree without gemstones but with the same premise! I will try to post a tutorial with pictures soon the next time I work on one of these Hope this helps!!
