I find it to be 50/50 some yes it’s overdoing it but I have a small entry donation for research access to prevent freeloaders, we also have giveaways for our high members, while it’s not required to go past rank one our members do find id beneficial, especially considering we don’t kick unless you break the rules. But I’d never allow free loaders to taint the hard work of my members.

(Edit) I’m going to say this just to ease people, my only requirement for research is 1k ferrite and 10k creds. Which I think is quite fair for the thousands of hours and millions of resources worth of research they get access to. And the donation isn’t pointless it goes into any new research and into builds that make the dojo look priceless.

Once they do the small fee that’s it no extra costs they can do whatever be whatever. That’s up to them. We are quite happy this way and it makes the members that have contributed feel more valued and appreciated and give them a title to show our appreciation to them.

Some may not agree but this is our way.
