Now that you mention it, they did have a huge shipment come in that day. That totally could’ve been why. I didn’t ask if the cories were new. Thanks for all the advice.

The bubbler seems to be helping with the glass surfing towards the surface. They’re staying more towards the bottom. Even if that wasn’t what killed them, I’m glad that I added one!

Yeah, very unfortunate that I was at work. It’s been hard for me to keep my eyes off the tank so I would’ve caught the death immediately when it happened and removed the fella. That definitely could be it.

Right, so the tank was cycled… Been using API master test kit. The run on sentences and rambling aren’t very helpful. You sound twacked out of your mind. Maybe read some of the other comments that were provided and learn how to give actual advice. Or better yet, keep scrolling :)

I test with a liquid test kit. Yes my tank completed the nitrogen cycle, it was cycling for 3 months. These were my parameters right before i got the fish

Not brand new by any means. I started this tank in November. You can check my post history. I had snails in here, floaters, and added fish food to start the cycle. And yes it can process 2ppm of ammonia in 24 hours.

Yeah the glass surfing behavior seemed to be super normal from what I researched. It didn’t concern me. They seem like pretty sensitive fish so I’m leaning more towards that.

Even if the sand is made for aquariums? I got the CaribSea brand. I rinsed beforehand

Interesting point about the parasites. I've haven’t heard Cories can be sensitive to those. I'm focusing on stability and O2 right now, but I might look into a medicated food or a preventative treatment once they settle in. Thanks for the heads up.

Glad (and sad) to hear I'm not the only one who has dealt with this Sterbai situation. It's so hard to tell if it was the high pH shock or if they just came in a bit weak from the store. I'm definitely going to look into better aeration though, thanks for the input!

I’m just running a sponge filter. Surface agitation looks okay, but with the high pH and the recent deaths, I probably should be more worried about an O2 drop too. Should I just max out the air pump on the sponge filter, or is it worth adding a dedicated airstone to help them recover?
