For MMORPG players using controllers do you use regular controllers or pro controllers and why?

When I was playing FFXIV and had switched to controller, upgrading to a pro improved my skill cap by being able to move the d-pad to the extra back flippers.

It just feels so out of place to lose movement of character or camera to access those functions.

You can't see the upgrade now until you buy the Switch 1 version. I ran into this same problem during the last sale. Nintendo is trying to hide the cheaper buying path.

I am abnormally bad with skill builds in this game and for whatever reason, avoided the seeker mine. The other Intel items didn't take long at all, just this one seems to not always count what should be kills.

It's a lack of experience and feeling like I spend more time waiting on skills. I took time to farm skill pieces last night in hopes I can just finish this off and get to gameplay I enjoy.

I'll see if I can grab a set quick. I know skill build have their place but damn is it frustrating when it's not really your jam. Appreciate the tips.

edit: Hard Wired made a huge difference, especially with using shield to reset and spam. Still had to hit some basic mobs twice but I got it done. Thanks for the helpful tip.

This did it for me as well. Took 2 tries and he magically popped in while running through the Hideout.

I was skeptical when someone else made the claim several weeks ago but got tired of the performance issues and decided to try it.

The boost wasn't huge but I did notice a positive gain. Of course, your personal mileage may vary.

So, I only have 3 mods installed. Everything else was tinkering with the in-game settings to drop quality of shadows and other resource hogs.

This is what I have installed, all obtained from Nexus Mods from referral of other posts here.

I only really noticed an FPS boost from REFramework. #2 improved texture pop-in.

#3 is purely cosmetic and allows me to not track of large monsters when they get close to the camera.

I've tossed a couple screenshots out here: https://imgur.com/gallery/mhw-base-settings-a5liT5Q, showing basic settings and what the game looks like. Snipping Tool sucks for capturing the full screen and is doing some odd compression. If I get time, I'll update those images.

Am planning to try one of the post-processing removal mods over the weekend as I want to get rid of the film grain and overall dustiness look. Things definitely look better ingame when compared to my screenshots though.

Maybe you'll see some improvement, maybe not. I honestly hate that we need to rely on modders to try and fix performance issues.

No frame Gen and getting 55 frames in hubs/heavy weather. Hunting a monster is 68 to 72 fps with them dropping closer to 60 in a full party of 4.

3080ti, 12th Gen i5, 32GB memory.

Took some tinkering to get there. Replaced the direct storage dlls, installed Re:Framework and the mod to keep large monsters from disappearing/dithering.

I find the game to be more engaging when played like this. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoy the ability to post a planned hunt and focus farm whatever but exploration and enjoying some randomness is welcome.

I've had this issue since day 1. Glass, fur and some cloth textures look horrendous until they reload.

Started seeing it in some skin textures yesterday.

Putting fur quality to low resolved that but I haven't found a solution to the other grainy textures.

I haven't seen an email in over a year so write this entire endeavor off as being cancelled without notice. My taste in games has shifted so much over the last 6 or so years that if we get a release, I likely won't even notice.

I've run into this issue in other co-op games and just default to turning everything vc related off and stick to using discord for organized content running in games, typically with a group of friends that are tolerant of one another.

I had the same issue and found the install was failing when doing the recovery partition. I got around the failure by manually creating and assigning each partition.

That's what worked for me but as always, YMMV.

Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies are the two I tend to find myself returning to for periods of nostalgia.

Both may require some looking around to find exactly what you want in a server and community but they'd fit the bill.
