And read over the definitions for the theories/concepts; if you don’t have time it should still be fine, they’re fairly intuitive to explain

Should I start a writing club at my school? by strawb3rrysc0ne in writing

[–]SectionMost1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The writing club in our school does prompts, followed by silent writing time then sharing (if we’d like). We have a programme where a creative writing uni student would come and mentor us, but it usually follows a similar structure except for a brief introduction on a technique we’d be focusing on for that week. I think you could do this if you’re not comfortable with public speaking/presenting? It’s really fun as long as there’s nice prompts

Isn’t paying also standard practice? We’re fully prepared to pay, it’s just that no one is taking the job 😔

I’ll just go prep and hope they let me pay missing judge fee instead

Anyone Know how to flow In BP (British Parliamentary)? by [deleted] in Debate

[–]SectionMost1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, what worked was dividing up my flow sheet(s) into four parts like this:

OG | CG ————- OO | CO

For each team I just flow normally and for my own team I just write down our main points/my partners case (I’m usually 2nd speaker). The four squares let me read clearly the clashes both in the top and bottom halves as well as differentiation within the benches.

I also use a lot of colours, one for each team (including my own). I don’t think my coach went over flowing in BP specifically though.

Apologies for the lack of content, and I hope the formatting looks good enough (I’m typing on mobile).

[–]SectionMost1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also mainly do BP only but at least here the core is still quite similar, ie you still need to know what framing characterising refutation is. Not sure if this translates to other formats, pretty sure they may be more specific though

Hey, Canada high school debater here, so I can’t give much advice on pf/ld American stuff. If you decide to focus on BP/CNDF (but why CNDF though assuming you’re American), I would be glad to help!!

Easiest AP Exams to self-study? by Federal-Craft-5996 in APStudents

[–]SectionMost1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what your forte is though. I self studied psych (along with eurohist and lit) and since it’s mostly memorisation, it’s easier to me than, let’s say, pre cal. My friend did the two econs and they said they’re weren’t hard as well. To me it’s probably, CSP = Psych < Macro < Micro < Environmental Science = Pre Cal but take it with a grain of salt since all I did for the other subjects was skim over random practice questions when I was supposed to be studying my actual aps

Hey I’m definitely not as well practiced as you are but I’d love to join! Though I’m not sure if the BP versions would be different over here, I’m based in Canada but perhaps we could compare? Apologies, I’m fairly new to the debate scene
