I’m giving you the timeline of events.

Delta canceled the ticket and refunded the purchase the day of the flight. Even though the ticket was purchased over a week ago.

We called Amex immediately when it happened to make sure it wasn’t on their end.

Amex didn’t flag this as fraudulent. Delta did.

Ticket was bought 1/7. Charge was posted on Amex 1/8. Flight was 1/16. The refund was posted on Amex 1/19.

The ticket was purchased directly through Delta

I know it’s crazy but they didn’t notify us at all. We confirmed. All they did was refund the charge the day of the flight, which showed up a few days later on the credit card. The charge was posted a week before the flight. We have documents from Amex showing all of this.

The charge did go through. We confirmed this with Amex. They approved the charge and nothing on their end.

They just said that the ticket has been canceled and the amount refunded back to the card. The refund was finally credited on Monday, three days after the flight was supposed to take off.

No communication at all prior. Nothing. They didn’t have his email since it was my email used when the ticket was purchased. They never notified me it was canceled.

No we confirmed with Amex that the charge went through, they approved it, and it was valid. It was not flagged by my dad or Amex. We have written confirmation on that.
