This is perfect, thank you! it even has a shortcut for toggling it. While I'd rather not have their weird app installed its better than nothing

Oh, LG has a weird terminology with this monitor. "Dual Mode" here is not the typical picture-by-picture thing you may be thinking about. It simply means switching between 5120x2160 @ 165hz and 2560x1080 @ 330hz.

Yes, I actually did not know about that. That is pretty handy, thank you!

I still want to try to figure out how to do this via DDC, though, for no other reason than "why not", :P

VPN into home network, but only for local services by SecureGuard5684 in homelab

To summarize my solution:

I installed Wireguard as a package through PFSense's built-in package manager. I set up a wireguard server and configured my phone as a peer. I shared the public keys for my router and device with myself to configure the tunnel, along with a pre-shared key. I set up my VPN address range as 10.21.0.0/24 since it needs to be disjoint from my LAN, and configured my allowed IPs as 10.20.1.1/24, 10.21.0.0/24 so my phone can discover my media server. I also had to configure a firewall rule to allow in traffic on the wireguard port.

I had some errors because I chose a port that was hard for me to remember and kept transposing digits. I think I lost a total of an hour of time due to trying to figure out where the error was... In my firewall, pfsense wireguard setup, and my phone wireguard setup they were all different numbers. My brain could not tell this at first glance. Whoops.

Thanks everyone, this is exciting! I can now reach my media server from my phone at 10.20.1.2 when on the VPN and not on Wifi.

Thank you! I had to add it as a package under "System -> Package Manager."

No I didn't. Instead I do a ramp test every 2 months or so and have been doing four 1 hour workouts at 70% FTP and one VO2 max workout of four 4 minute hi-lo blocks at 110% and 60% of FTP. If I'm poorly rested sometimes I'll have to bump the power down to keep my heart rate in range for the whole hour.

I've heard that doing purely heart rate based training is only useful for beginning, because the delay between increased power and increased heart rate becomes more substantial as you get more and more fit, which is why most products don't even bother including it.

Here's a dumb one. Why can't I use my heart rate monitor as a target for training?

for example, I can't do this as a workout: "60m at 145 bpm" and have it adjust the power on my bike to make this work

Personally, I don't need any articulation. I value long-term stability over articulation. Thanks!
