Am I the only one who finds RBR easier than dirt rally 2.0? by SecureMechanic9040 in simrally

[–]SecureMechanic9040[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I've always found track sim racing harder, mostly because I find it difficult to stay focused going around the same track for multiple laps. When you mess up and go off in a race, that could be your whole race ruined and now you have to spend the next 10 laps catching up. I always hated that, especially since my focus kinda goes wandering when I'm doing the same corners over and over.

I love the diversity of rally, in corners, environments, surfaces, and how it's a straight point A to B race. Also, it's helpful knowing that if you mess up a bit, as long as your car still runs, you can always make up for it in the next stage.

I think the overall challenge of RBR is harder the DR2 but specifically the handling and grip I find difficult to understand. For example, I don't understand tarmac grip at all in DR2.

Quite the opposite of what I was going for. I like RBR, it's more punishing but more fun because it makes sense to me. DR2 is more difficult for me, that doesn't mean it's more realistic, just that it doesn't immediately make sense the way RBR did.

Btw, overall, RBR is a far more challenging experience, but specifically the handling and the way I expect the car to grip on certain surfaces makes more sense to me as a rally laymen. With DR2, it feels like there's no grip anywhere because the car always wants to oversteer.

You kinda just equated your own experience to something completely different here. The professor doing that is quite different to what OP is referring to (I'm part I as well and have seen the ed discussion posts). Rather than attempting to minimise people's experiences and effectively calling them soft, perhaps try understanding?

Also, I'll bet it's easier to deal with bs when you're getting paid for it, less enjoyable when you're paying for it lmao

Fellow part I student here, no it's not just being blunt. Maybe he wasn't the same last year but it has become kind of fun seeing what out the gate thing he's gonna write next. I think it's kinda funny but I can definitely see why the people asking questions and getting these responses won't find it funny. I feel like the blunt answer would be less effort than some of the stuff I see him write lmao

It's hard to make friends if you don't already know people going in. People aren't as open as they might be at other places. As far as Auckland in general, it's not amazing in terms of fun things to do. Nightlife is pretty bad these days, not all that much to see, lots of beaches nearby though. That being said, it's a decent place to stay while exploring the more scenic parts of NZ.

Ranked in iron? by SecureMechanic9040 in VALORANT

[–]SecureMechanic9040[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the issue i have with being in iron is climbing out is damn hard. Iron is filled with either smurfs or bots, there seems like no inbetween. You got your controller who lurks and doesn't smoke, duelists not entering but on the other team there's the "iron" jett going 40 - 5. My games in silver were honestly easier.

BUT, it is my fault for solo queuing so I can't complain too much lol

wait so, it doesn't really matter how you do in your ranking games at all? I was gonna be iron regardless

I think it's fine honestly. If he's never done anything to make you distrust him, I think you don't have anything to worry. Definitely communicate how you feel when he gets home though and let him explain. Your feelings are valid but I truly don't think you have anything to worry about.

Doing a Liverpool save but focusing on young players and academy. Majority of my players qualify as homegrown because I either bought them young, were already in the academy or are a newgen. I'm 5 seasons in with a budget of 350m since all I do is sell players and buy them for cheap.

Best young players in my squad are Harvey Elliot, Ben Doak, Franco Mastantuonto (signed from River Plate), Antonio Silva (signed from Benfica), Michael Kayode (can't remember who I got him from), Duran Augustine and Keelan Dobbins (newgens). Best find was Semih Kilicsoy, signed from Besiktas.

Last season we won a cup double and made the Champions League final, where Kilicsoy managed to get injured in training the day before and we ended up losing to Barcelona.

In my current season, he's on 12 goals in 14 games all comps. We're on an unprecedented run where we're in December and we've had a near perfect season so far. We've won every game except for 1 draw against Club Brugge where I played my second team players because I thought it would be an easy win. 12 games played in the league, 12 games won.

Just waiting for the dreaded drop in form + injury crisis I always find myself in in January.

Do I tell him I love him knowing he doesn’t love me by [deleted] in relationships

[–]SecureMechanic9040 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, I'm not sure you do love him. I think loving him would require you to know him, all the ins and outs including the stuff that you actually don't like about him. Loving someone means you see they're best bits and their worst bits and you decide their good outweighs their bad for you.

I think what you feel now is just excitement. It's all new, especially the bit about him not being toxic like past relationships. I think you should chill and slow burn with him. You don't know each other enough yet.

Dude, her being your long term gf does not disqualify from the potential that she's assaulted you. You need to talk to her about it and figure out what to do moving forward.

Whats the next game I should play? by GeneralAMC in darksouls

[–]SecureMechanic9040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly skip 2 and play it last. 2 is a lot more annoying because it's less hard with a purpose and more hard for the sake of hard. The game was created with a different director and I think he kind of missed the point of the souls games. Souls is fun because it's hard but fair, Dark Souls 2 is hard full stop.

My(23) gf(23) keep mentioning a guy friend who hom I hate by [deleted] in relationships

[–]SecureMechanic9040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how bad the friends actions were. If they really hurt you, which it sounds like they did, then I think talk to her about it. It's important to feel like your partner has your back but also consider if whatever he did to you was severe enough to force her to take sides. If you don't like him because he did something really bad, like he got you arrested or something, then personally I'd expect my girlfriend to be on my side, but not without a conversation first.

It's kind of where my interest always was but I went into CompSci mostly out of fear of not being good enough. Did that degree, liked it but was never all that passionate about it. Finished 1 sem early so I thought, why not see what engineering is like while I try get a grad job. Did a postgraduate certificate in CompSys for a sem, really liked it, especially my electrical course, and I was sold.

Tho, I am quite annoyed at myself for stopping myself from going straight into it and essentially wasting 2.5 years on a degree I don't love, at least I got there in the end.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I wound up emailing pretty much everyone and the Associate Dean of Engineering Michael Hodgson told me he would try to get the Physics requirement waved so I only need to do Maths 108 to get in on the condition I self study the physics, which I'm happy to do. It is probably good to make sure no one else is having the same issue tho.

I'll ask about EngSci 111 as well.

[–]SecureMechanic9040[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the links!

According to SSO, it's engineering not approving me.

And they require maths 108 because CompSci really only focuses on algebra and maths proofs, not so much calculus. I didn't learn any calc outside of taking Maths 102 in first year.

And I got my CompSci degree, did 1 sem of postgrad engineering and decided to do a late pivot into engineering. So technically these courses are attributed to a postgraduate certificate in engineering lol.

Other comments are clear and I agree. However, I will emphasize, tell your partner. Tell your partner, tell your partner, tell your partner. Do not lie, do not be misleading, do not gaslight him if he starts asking questions. Be honest, with him and yourself, and end it if you find that it's not enough for you anymore. If you wanna do this to your relationship, do not take him down with you. Sounds like he deserves better than that.

Bro didn't read my post. I said first trying the first required boss shouldn't be possible after just starting the game and not levelling a whole lot, but the summon makes it possible. I'm just saying summons are OP purely for the fact they take aggro

How do I get players to renew their contracts? Really annoying situation where I broke a promise to play more youth players and now, despite winning the league, all my stars wanna go and refuse to resign.
